Pros

401(k) match up to 8% monthly meet with management full-time and part-time options decent culture amongst the branches / corporate (not with each other) good chance of moving up in the company if staying in your own department

Cons

Bellco really thinks they did something with their pay recently by changing everyone's salary to 20/hr. Those of us who've been here for 5+ years are now making the same hourly wage as those who just start--possibly less, as the starting pay range is now 20-20.50 depending on experience--whether they are loan officers or advanced tellers (teller with notary). The workload is vastly different, from someone who's done everything here, and should most definitely not be making the same wage. Upper management is rife with excuses, none of which hold a grain of accuracy. Rampant favoritism in corporate setting, dramatic gap between corporate and branch culture--like two different companies entirely. Company consistently brags about having so much money and assets and refuses to pay employees a living wage. Not only does EVERYONE, regardless of seniority, now start at 20, supervisors only make around 23-25, management anything from 25-36 (hello wage gap), with no account for experience and mostly based on how hard you fight in the interview process. Regardless of experience, you will be offered the minimum starting pay and negotiations are mostly gaslighting guilt trips as to how else you could make money. Incentive structure is completely skewed. The branches are divided into groups 1, 2, and 3, but incentive is not adjusted for traffic--if you're not a level 1 branch, there's no way more than one banker could hit their goals every month. It is highly encouraged to push products onto the members. The bottom line is held in higher regard to the member wellness. Technology is woefully outdated and consistently breaking, glitching, crashing throughout a typical work day. Could take weeks or even months to get systems working, and even then chances are something will immediately crash again in the same week.

Pros

The credit union idea, generally speaking, is a good one.

Cons

The CEO and other management are very disconnected from other employees. As a visible example, the CEO has a bio-scan lock to keep employees out of his office suite. He never spoke directly to any employee that I ever met.

Pros

Decent location for HQ.

Cons

At this point, the operation exists primarily to ensure that the CEO gets his maximum bonus each year. Many Colorado jobs have been lost due to the S3 outsourcing initiative, and service to Members has suffered. The Chief HR Officer also has set a chilling tone for the organization. Many of the rules are old-school and do not reflect the changing mores of a 21st Century workforce. The culture changed dramatically during my time: the balance sheet is what matters. Executive leadership also has brought in a number of traditional bankers and inserted them in key slots. There will be more changes at Bellco, and most of them will not benefit Members.
