Pros

There was a lot of opportunity to get practical experience in the field after college.

Cons

Not a lot of room to grow, but that's to be expected at a small business.

Pros

So much better than any place I have ever worked. Everyone from the top down at Berg is extremely friendly, personable, and easy to work with. The NDT and Hardness testing industry is super interesting and constantly adapting and advancing with new technologies within the industry. Constantly learning about the latest technology in the industry. No red tape if you want to pitch an idea to senior leadership. Set 8-hour work days with a 45-minute lunch. Pizza Fridays for B-days and a lot of holidays off. Good benefits. Weekly Pay! Enjoy coming to work every day because it is never the same old mind-numbing tedious tasks, you will be doing something different every day. Lots of freedom to work/learn the way you do best. No micro-managing. The list goes on!

Cons

Not many. Berg offers a wide range of NDT & hardness testing products, which can feel like a lot to learn in the beginning but you pick it up by doing projects/training over time. The Techs, Sales, and engineers are always willing to help you with product info and explain features. It is definitely best viewed as a long-term job/career because the more you learn about NDT the higher value you become.

Pros

The Owner/Boss is extremely intelligent, hardworking, informative, easy to talk, great leader, & likable guy. This spills over into the employees who are all down-to-earth, hardworking, funny, humble, empathetic, and easy to get along with teammates. 1. They do not micro-manage, they give you tasks and trust you to do it 2. Work life balance is great (you don't have to put in long hours after work like most companies) 3. every single person/department is more then willing to help if you have a question or problem 4. The pay and benefits are good 5. A smaller family like culture but plenty of work so you will not get bored 6. They encourage you to take your generous lunch breaks to create balance

Cons

Its hard to think of any. This has been the best workplace culture and company I have ever worked for. -Sometimes you work on a project and think its 100% complete but you have to go back and make minor edits/changes... but that's every workplace (also a communication trait I could improve on internally) -Good honest work principles generate plenty of business so there is always lots of work tasks to-do... But I'd rather be busy than bored at work so it makes the days go by fast (I've left a few company's from mastering the job/not being challenged enough/tedious repetitive work)
