Pros

Literally - None - Some of the people there are nice

Cons

The management and culture in Berkley have to be experienced to be believed. If you do some research into how people have finished up with them it will tell its own story. It is a culture of pure micro-management, compiled with mistreatment, dishonestly and most importantly FEAR. Stay well away if you are a recruiter on the lookout for a new role, there are plenty of agencies in Cork where you won't fear for your life going into work every morning.

Pros

Talking to candidates was the nicest part of the job.

Cons

Everything! Management extremely poor throughout company. It seems the less you do the longer they will keep you there so if you’re an individual that likes to sit back and shop online this is the company for you! Anyone who has a brain or voice will most certainly be given the boot out the door! Save your hard work for another agency as you may never see your commission if you are a driven person. Too much bickering between teams but those are the people they love to hire so if you love company drama, Berkley is the place to be!

Pros

- Commission structure - Some interesting clients - Great Operations Director, friendly Marketing and Life Science & Engineering Team. There is a very small number of quality people on the Business & Technology side that more than likely will soon leave.

Cons

- Base salaries are below market base, especially for Managers and Senior Recruiters. - Giving unfair preferential treatment to one group at the expense of another. People are often promoted or have their targets lowered not due to their abilities or performance, but as reward for their groomed relationship with the Directors. - If you raise issues pertinent to your job you immediately become a target. Trained and unbiased HR is nonexistent so there’s not much you can do. - “Associate Director”/ Managers are more focused on criticizing people in their own team rather than focusing on self-improvement and meeting their own targets (this isn’t an issue for them as a result of their groomed relationship with the Directors). Nobody in management is leading by example. - Plenty of bullies at senior positions so your mental health could be badly affected. - Making false promises regarding increase in base salary, bonuses & promotions. - Gossip and drama are very much present and often takes priority over the actual recruitment.
