Pros

Really transparent management, you can meet with the current CEO/president A lot of opportunities to do extra stuff, committees (counselors won't have the time so don't even think about it) Bonuses Support staff have more freedom (case manager, peer, CSR, health home)

Cons

The pay is terrible. The company will pay you 20-30/hour while earning over $200 per every medicaid client and asking you to get 100 units monthly (you do the math). The company will overload you with clients, at one point I was getting 5 new clients per week when already seeing 80 regularly. No time for caseload management, constantly told to just "do it when you get a no show" which is just not fair for stress levels of counselors. When this company was LakeShore it was awesome but now it is just terrible. The sad thing is upper management will just pretend everything is fine when people are literally crying, screaming, yelling during staff meetings about how terrible things are, they will actively ignore you and just tout "self care." All counselors are capable of doing self-care and it can be helpful but it shouldn't be the answer to shut counselors up. I shouldn't have to do 1 hour of yoga and meditation every day just to barely survive the circumstances of my job. The last time the new CEO came to our clinic, worker after worker spoke up about how terrible it is having 100 clients, and there was no clear answer, in fact we were all actively ignored. People constantly talked about doing a walk out during shifts because things were so bad but no one was organized enough to pull it off without harming clients. Now for the worst part, the supervisory staff that are left are incompetent. No question - the best, most intelligent, most capable counselors all leave for better money, more freedom. So the people that are left over to provide supervision are just that.. leftovers. So the company is farrr to easy to move up in, all you have to do is have the drive to move up and stay long enough. Leaving an overwhelming amount of terrible supervisors. I will no longer refer clients here until I hear that counselors are being treated better and have lower caseloads.

Pros

Toilets, toilet paper, doors, windows, running water- you get the idea: basic necessities.

Cons

Working at this counseling factory is like executing a science experiment no one asked for. You must ask yourself, would you like to participate in a science experiment in which you: either drink the kool-aid and think this place rocks or experience intense burn out? If either sounds appealing, then this is the place for you. It has everything, poor upper management, no consideration for work/life balance, unreasonable work load for barely above minimum wage, and you get to look at the CEOs Bitmoji every day while you work nonstop being traumatized yourself. Have you ever considered working for a place that routinely gaslights staff for expressing concern about the unsustainable nature of the workload?!? Then this is the place for you: it has everything, 200+ caseload, revolving door of counselors, and no career growth if you don’t brush elbows with higher ups. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to attend a meeting with a CFO and VP entitled “listening tour” and they do the opposite of listen? Then this is the place for you! It has everything: crappy benefits and PTO, stagnant wages despite the VPs being in control of staffs wages, and massive cover up’s for staff that harass and yell at you. If you have any self respect and want to avoid working with incompetent Luddite’s, then this is NOT the place for you. Stay away like it’s Covid 2020.

Pros

Offer trainings that count towards CEUs, okay PTO

Cons

All of management are not on the same page. My direct supervisor was micromanaging, unprofessional, rude and disrespectful that I am still dealing with self-doubt and workplace anxiety today after leaving the agency. This role had made me want to change careers all together. If you're a counselor, you're going to be so overworked and overwhelmed you won't have time to breathe, do your work, or adhere to the outrageous paperwork expectations. I'm still in touch with multiple therapists still working here and it's apparent this company is just worried about looks. They continue to expand without the appropriate staffing, overwork their employees, and not intervene with toxic management. I feel bad for my friends who still work here and can't find their way out. I was on the brink of divorce while working here I was so unhappy. Almost lost everything until I woke up and quit one day.
