So Much Talent Wasted by Dysfunctional Leadership
Pros
Rank and file staff are amazing. There some really passionate, talented people who wants to make a difference. The mission is great and they have accomplished a lot. The only reason I can give more than one star is that the staff have found a way to support each other (despite myopic leadership) because the services they provide are needed and important.
Cons
Leadership talks a good game, but is out of touch with day to day operations. HR is fairly ineffective unless the order comes from above. Nothing was ever done about issues reported and a lot of gossiping went on. I can honestly say that I have never felt more disposable/disrespected by my supervisor in a work environment, despite many attempts to find honest and constructive ways to change the situation. If you make friends with a major donor, that apparently gives you carte blanche to act however you like when they leave the building. Such behavior included storming out of meetings, shouting at subordinates, and throwing people under the bus after work you approved doesn't please another staff member, partner or donor.
