Pros

- Great people (outside of execs and some management) - Unlimited PTO - Great healthcare - Mac, slack, G-suite

Cons

Where to start. When I started with Beyond it felt like a great place to work. The founder is relatable and is a great talker. Things started to get bad when the executive team allowed their egos to tell them that Beyond is the "best", simply because it was first to market. Teams on the front line saw how quickly the competition was catching up, and most importantly, that Beyond cost at least 6x more than its competitors. This was consistently communicated to the executive team. What did Julie, the CEO, do? Nothing... in fact, she frequently belittled the sales team and their managers. She has put the blame on everyone but her since she has taken over. The company cycled threw 2 sales VPs within a year and a half. The constant? Julie, the CEO. Many sales team members were fired at the beginning of the year with NO warning. They put a PIP in place after this, but never followed it. All of the managers in place are yes men and do whatever they are told. The industry is over Beyond. They are holding onto their customers as hard as they can while many jump ship to go to competitors after their contract terms are up. They have tried to sell additional products that no one wants to buy or cares about. You will be stuck calling the same companies who have told them no a million times, or trying to upsell if you are a CSM. I know when I'm researching companies, I take harsh reviews with a grain of salt. Sometimes you never know, could be a disgruntled employee that didn't perform. But please take this review for all it is. Find current and previous employees on LinkedIn and ask them to share their experience. Save yourself and do not work here.

Hi - thank you for for your feedback - as you know, we value all feedback - even when it’s constructive. It sounds like you've disagreed with the strategic direction we have taken at Beyond - and that is okay - our plan and path is not for everyone. I am so proud of the global Beyond team that works so hard to ensure STR hosts and managers grow their business - and it's imperative that we keep those Beyond standards high. And sometimes that means making tough decisions - and being clear and transparent about those decisions. We will continue to pursue delivering the most innovative, outcome-driven product and service to the STR market - for our treasured customers and our world-class team. Thank you for the contributions you made while you were here, and thanks again for giving me your feedback. -Julie Brinkman, CEO

Pros

Cool industry, clients are enjoyable to work with, some amazing team members, solid benefits

Cons

- Insane expectations - Below fair market value pay - Unrealistic/unachievable OTE - No opportunity for growth - Terrible work/life balance - Poor financial outlook - Leadership is delusional FACTS: The company hasn't hit a monthly revenue goal in nearly 2 years. The sales org has had 3 different VP/Director level leaders and 3 different sales managers in 13 months. The NA sales team, through a combination of firings and layoffs, was reduced from 14 to 12 to 6 to 4 to 1 during that same time period. Also during that time, an individual rep exceeded their monthly or quarterly goal no more than 5 times. The Enterprise role has been eliminated. The commission plan was restructured in a way that penalizes sellers in favor of protecting CS. OPINION: After a post-pandemic boom that artificially inflated performance (and heads), the company is crashing back down to earth. Expectations are unrealistic, OTE is laughably unattainable, and leadership is woefully incapable of righting the ship. The deluded executives have surrounded themselves with a team of sycophants and yes-men while dodging any semblance of accountability. The lackeys in middle management have neither the skill nor the wherewithal to combat the ineptitude of leadership, so the sales org is devolving into an activity-metrics-driven grindhouse where young and inexperienced sellers are whipped into submission until they finally burnout, all while being paid below market value salaries and never attaining quota. There was a time when this AE role was fun and enjoyable. That time has passed. I wouldn't wish this job on my worst enemy.

Hi - thank you for your feedback. Beyond has consistently seen year-over-year revenue growth, but it seems like our current direction and the changes we’re making to continue this growth have not been resonating with you. Your role as an Account Executive is crucial to our continued success, and I thank you for being here. My door is open if you’d like to better understand the why behind the decisions we’re making. -Julie Brinkman, CEO

Pros

Remote Unlimited paid time off

Cons

I was hired and then let go after 6 weeks. I was told by my manager that they are not going to set me up for success and it’s better for my own “mental health” if I don’t work there. Not only is it illegal to let someone go for “mental health” reasons, but for a company who put so much emphasis on their core values, one being, “we care”, I surely didn’t have that experience. I never felt supported nor was even given a fair chance at my job. This says a lot about what kind of company they are. I would love to hear what the CEO has to say about this. I would proceed with caution before accepting a job there.
