Pros

- Great people (outside of execs and some management) - Unlimited PTO - Great healthcare - Mac, slack, G-suite

Cons

Where to start. When I started with Beyond it felt like a great place to work. The founder is relatable and is a great talker. Things started to get bad when the executive team allowed their egos to tell them that Beyond is the "best", simply because it was first to market. Teams on the front line saw how quickly the competition was catching up, and most importantly, that Beyond cost at least 6x more than its competitors. This was consistently communicated to the executive team. What did Julie, the CEO, do? Nothing... in fact, she frequently belittled the sales team and their managers. She has put the blame on everyone but her since she has taken over. The company cycled threw 2 sales VPs within a year and a half. The constant? Julie, the CEO. Many sales team members were fired at the beginning of the year with NO warning. They put a PIP in place after this, but never followed it. All of the managers in place are yes men and do whatever they are told. The industry is over Beyond. They are holding onto their customers as hard as they can while many jump ship to go to competitors after their contract terms are up. They have tried to sell additional products that no one wants to buy or cares about. You will be stuck calling the same companies who have told them no a million times, or trying to upsell if you are a CSM. I know when I'm researching companies, I take harsh reviews with a grain of salt. Sometimes you never know, could be a disgruntled employee that didn't perform. But please take this review for all it is. Find current and previous employees on LinkedIn and ask them to share their experience. Save yourself and do not work here.

Pros

Beyond has a strong mission, talented employees, and opportunities to work on meaningful projects. I enjoyed collaborating with cross-functional teams and appreciated the chance to contribute to innovative work. The people I worked with were supportive, skilled, and passionate about what they do. I also gained valuable experience and grew professionally during my time here.

Cons

The culture shifted significantly following management changes. There was an increased emphasis on oversight, administrative tracking, and process, which reduced autonomy and trust. As a designer, I found myself spending more time documenting work than focusing on design and creative problem-solving. Unlimited PTO policies felt restrictive in practice, making it difficult to fully disconnect and recharge. Workload distribution at times appeared inconsistent, which could impact morale and growth opportunities. These factors contributed to burnout and ultimately influenced my decision to leave.
