Pros

Not a single pro to working with this atrocious company, my advise, especially to young girls in retail is stay well clear of this place and save yourself the tears and depression. Fairworks would have field day if they investigated this company. You’d probably be happier at Kmart!

Cons

-Head Office are completely clueless who are clearly all under qualified for the jobs they are doing. Constantly passing you on to other people because they don’t know the answer to your problems/questions. Does anyone actually get any training in the role they are doing or is it just a ‘wing it’ situation…. Because it’s certainly feels like they are winging it. -Set up a new store worked 40+ hours of overtime (no choice in the matter) was expected to set up all electrical, POS and internet equipment ourselves, worked till midnight and came in at 6am the same day and were abused by customers for weeks straight due to the complete lack of training and organisation from head office. -Back room complete hazard with ladders that have broken or missing steps and compactors that would shut on us with no warning. Shoe boxes stacked so high that movement with the compactor would cause dozens of heavy boots falling on employees heads. Compactors second hand from another store that don’t run on the tracks safely, damaging walls and creating holes. No where practical to sit an have a break, a fold out beach chair is not acceptable. -Unfair dismissal of employee’s with sneaky loopholes of ‘contracts’. Employee’s fired on the spot with no warnings. Completely unethical. -They hire based on LOOKS not SKILL, got a good resume? Too bad unless you look like an Instagram model then you should probably not bother applying. -Staff turnover is so high but I think that’s pretty self explanatory with all the above as it’s a hideous place to work. -No proper training plans or staff career development plans. Again, unprofessional. How do you expect staff to want to grow if there is no incentive? -KPI based but for what? You get nothing extra if you constantly meet your target so again what’s the incentive? And what’s the point? -Store is DISGUSTING. Floor is covered in dirt so when customers try on shoes the whole sole of there foot turns black, all the shoes get destroyed and constantly having to clean the bottom of the shoes so we can actually sell them. No amount of mopping helps as the air con switches off every night and dust falls from the vents. -Shoes are complete rip off’s of designer brands and cheaply made in factories in China. So many FAULTIES daily, straps completely snapping after one wear, wonky heels, missing gems, and we’re told to fix it and re-sell it. -NO REFUNDS ALLOWED! I gave up with this ‘policy’ as the amount of abuse we would cop daily was unimaginable. And I don’t get paid to be abused. -POS system sucks … constant problems with being offline , eftpos machines freezing and no help with getting fixed. Unnecessary reports having to be done weekly with the same information each time. - No one cares about the time difference in WA. -Made to feel guilty if you can’t work on a day you have said you are not available, management not taking no for an answer. No means no! People have lives outside of work especially if your lying minimum wage. -Forced to wear makeup and have hair done every single day as it’s the ‘Brand’ and ‘in our contract’ -I could go on forever so basically do not work here. I’ve worked for many different retailers who do not discriminate and actually care about the well being of its employees. I think all the reviews on here speak for themselves…

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Billini. We are disappointed to hear of your employee journey. Billini is a rapidly growing retailer with 21 stores Australia wide and opened its first WA store in October 2021 during Covid and a period of on-going travel restrictions to WA. A senior store manager travelled from QLD to WA for 2 weeks to support the store opening and during that time training was provided to all team members. We thank you for taking on additional hours to assist with store setup. We recognise that operating a remote store can be a challenge for any retailer and we train our leaders to be approachable and responsive to all employee’s requests. Billini is a diverse workplace where candidates are employed based on merit not appearance. We can confirm that all our equipment, ladders and compactors comply with the WHS standards. We ensure that best practice is put forward, and any serious misconduct is not taken lightly. We have shared your review with management as all feedback is important and taken seriously.

Pros

Good discount for staff (50%)

Cons

- Dangerous workplace. Back rooms are too small, things have to be stacked high which is a hazard. It is constantly a hazard. Staff have hurt themselves yet we were never given incident report forms… - Back room does not have a sink/running water. Staff constantly having to buy their own water daily once their bottles run out - No fridge - Head Office is a mess. Everything is so disorganised - Shoes are bad quality and are constantly doing faulty returns (and we get in trouble for it) - Impossible deadlines for tasks - Misogyny and sexism in regards to uniform/makeup - Styles are constantly out of stock, customers get mad at us - You have to only give 1 side of the shoe. Customers complain about this to us and online when we are just complying with policy. Customers always asks for the other foot so just double handling constantly - Extremely high turn over of staff. Lost 5 staff members in 6 months. Multiple managers as they got fed up with it - Impossible work hours. Finishing at 9:15 pm, with travel time home, and then work at 8am the next morning. Legally you need to have 12 hours between each shift - Constantly contacting head office about things and them not replying. Then we get a customer complaint about that thing and they say “why is this like this?!” when we’ve already told them - Never provided a first aid kit - Never any positive acknowledgment or appreciation - WORST point of sale system and procedures
