Pros

Good team while I was there. Good projects in the first couple years, then it all went down hill due to poor hiring at an executive level and no business development. The latter leading to laying off an entire team of designers who cared about Blacksheep, but were seen as pariahs for voicin honest feedback. Judging from the last review there has been some level of venomous talk hanging over into the present about the “bad eggs” who sought to improve the business. Even a year after they were made to leave. How the last positive reviewer can begin to presume that these people had “issues outside the workplace” is beyond my imagination. Also having used the HR process at Blacksheep to raise a grievance, I can tell you with all honesty that problems are not heard by HR and that they only exist as a mechanism to protect Blacksheep legally in instances where staff are no longer required (as evidenced in the redundancies and dismissals which occurred during my tenure).

Cons

Too many to list in an objective and constructive way.

Pros

Blacksheep on the outside looks like a very cool, innovative and fun company to work for, it looks good on your CV; Good & interesting projects, if you are lucky to get on one; I worked with some of the most creative, talented & inspiring people, the team of Blacksheep (excl. management) are the brains & absolute bones of the projects.

Cons

High turn over rate; Poor pay, no proper reviews, no salary negotiations; Bad management, nobody willing to accept responsibility for their actions, and there is no one you can rely on if you have an issue - no HR department. No recognition and appreciation given. Limited experience to see a project from start to finish due to many projects not making it past concept or on site for 3 -5 years.
