Pros

Supportive coworkers, diverse caseload, great place to gain experience, PTO isn't bad.

Cons

Supervisors are basically negligent helicopter parents, micromanaging you but rarely saying anything helpful, just critiquing and talking to you as if you are stupid. Supervisors are set up for failure by having 20+ supervisees each and seemingly being expected to work 24/7. My supervisor's anxiety and tendency to escalate situations has often made me more worried about telling her about a client's situation due to how she will react than I am about the client's safety, which is horrible. Recently the decision was made to decrease gaps between sessions from 15 minutes to 5. When clinicians have expressed concern they have been ignored, gaslit, and outright lied to about the reasoning behind it and steps that will be taken to provide support. At the end of the day, it is all about money and clinician mental health is what suffers. Clients also suffer, many having had multiple therapists in a short time frame due to the excessive amount of turnover. There are better places out there, just don't do it to yourself.

Pros

Experience working with a wide variety of client demographics and cultures. Clinician coworkers were the best part.

Cons

Unreasonable caseload expectations (I saw 44 clients a week as a young clinician), low compensation for sessions, over-burdened supervisory staff with micro-management supervision style via text on microsoft teams while offering only 45 minutes face to face supervision every 2 weeks. The feverishly liability averse supervision around high risk issues instilled tension and paranoia in my clinical management of high risk clients for years following my time there. The company valued metrics and cost saving to the detriment of client care, and was exploitative of trainees and entry level clinicians. Mission statement of the company may as well be "what's integrity?"

Pros

Diverse case load, good coworkers, alright amount of PTO. Salary somewhat competitive.

Cons

Legit everything else. They’re liars. When I was hired I was told one thing for case load and number of sessions a week and how much supervision I get a week. Both changed with one email and no discussion. Breaks cut from 15 between sessions to 5, but you’re also told to fill every slot and if you don’t have a client do an intake because money and productivity are all that matter. They have work around lip service for doing all documentation on time but the real expectation is you do your paperwork on your free time. Management will ask for suggestions to improve but then never take any of them. Again more lip service but no results. Management will gas light and bully you when you’re behind and then ask why you didn’t fill every slot when you’re actually not behind. No joy or sense of growth. No clinical discussions in supervision unless forced and even then it quickly goes back to task management. My weekends were basically dreading going to work. And when the burnout, morale in the toilet and other issues are brought up management says, “it could be even worse.”
