Pros

In my 12 years of working in employability Blue Apple Training seemed to have got things right with a contract with local council .

Cons

Your forced to throw anything at the wall hoping it sticks when it comes to getting people into work. In the space of eight months since I've been working there ten members of staff have left the company. Avoid working for this company if value work ethics and are looking for something long term your employment will be short lived there if not your sanity (Do not give into desperation ). Directors have forced key members of staff to leave and look elsewhere because their salary pales insignificantly to the amount of work they've had to do.

Pros

This is a small company where everyone knows and supports each other. Certainly, when I was there, even the company owners were accessible and easy to talk to, even to challenge on occasions. Here is a company that encourages individuality and doesn't think a square peg should fit into a round hole. Diversity of personalty and character adds richness to the team and management recognises this. Having such an inclusive strategy, the leaders of Blue Apple know and understand the staff and their idiosyncrasies and embrace both work and life experience as immensely valuable.

Cons

This is a small company which means there is a low ceiling for ambition. It goes with the territory because it is a very small company.

Pros

Supportive and caring with genuine amazing staff and managers. Positivity and great attitude to work is promoted from Director level. Not one staff member has not being supported in this organisation, managers bending over backwards to maintain health and well-being and work/life balance. Our staff, customers and learners mean everything to us. We live by the 'Blue Apple Way', which is basically demonstrating genuine care, passion, good attitude, supporting everyone around you and basically displaying great human qualities. Blue Apple look for staff who have that passion to succeed, that passion to help anyone that comes through our doors and the determination to keep on smiling even though at times life may be tough. Managers are down to earth, friendly and very supportive - ensuring plans are in place for anyone who may be struggling, whether that is with work or home life. Staff are encouraged to give their views on how we can continue to grow and develop. The whole company, and every single staff member is encouraged to be supportive and positive and encouraged from day 1. We have a genuine 'Open Door Policy', that never shuts - even out of work hours or on weekends. Blue Apple value every member of their staff and are proud for what we stand for and proud that we are continuing to have a positive impact on all of our learners and customers. Directors appreciate their staff and understand that without them, they do not have a business. They will change staff hours, days and allow for unforeseen circumstances time and time again, allowing staff to come in/leave early/late to help them. The place is full of great people, great staff and all have a mutual understanding that negativity breeds negativity - therefore creating a warm, friendly place to work.

Cons

Blue Apple is a small company, nothing in comparison with large corporate businesses, this means that quite often plans need to change at short notice. However, while the majority of staff enjoy this challenge - some people seek negativity and will begin to complain - drip feeding negativity to their colleagues. Nobody enjoys coming to work to listen to constant moaning and negativity, therefore, Blue Apple will identify the seed that is causing the negativity and work with them in order to get them to overcome/address the cause of their negativity. However, sadly, as the comments can be viewed here (and I can see for each one which person has left the message), their negativity and unjust and totally unreliable comments are still continuing. Working with staff that cannot understand that we are not a charity, and we are in a supply chain of other funders who will put the pressure on management should we be failing on contracts. Luckily, this is not always the case, as our team and management quite often meet expected KPI's (not set by Blue Apple), but at times we have had to have difficult conversations with staff who, after countless support, do not improve (whilst other members do). After all, how can we survive in such times without doing out best to hit our targets so that bills and wages can be paid. There are limited cons in working here, but the biggest 'con' is working with people who just want to come in, get paid but not willing to put in the effort - but will continue to sow the seeds of negativity.
