Pros

There are a lot of great people at Blue Chip - people you would want to become friends with. There are plenty of options (until COVID obviously) to get together as a team, department, and company. Blue Chip values socialization outside of work.

Cons

The environment is very toxic. Middle leadership has no idea how to lead, only how to backstab colleagues, clients, and partners. Ownership is out of touch with their own reports. They hear one thing from leadership, while leadership turns around and says the opposite to the teams, then does nothing but badmouth other leaders. The aggressive culture encourages a solo approach to everything, so someone can claim success as their own, not as the team's. Blue Chip has a VERY stagnant leadership team, which is a great example of the Peter Pan principle - they are stagnant because nobody else will want them, but the Blue Chip 'in crowd' welcomes them with open arms because they afraid of being labeled not a "Blue Chip Blood Type." . I am reminded so many times of the Emperor's New Clothes that it is now a joke. Incompetence, lying, not doing the right thing by the client, is rampant here. Perpetuating rumors, griping and complaining is a daily occurrence amongst the leadership team. CYA is the key to success here. Completely unethical attitudes and actions against anyone "not like the management team." The belief unspoken except behind closed doors is that we are all shocked Blue Chip hasn't been sued out of existence. Advancement is purely political, and given to those that fit a mold of the "in crowd" leadership. This place is a self-perpetuating cesspool of egos, liars, and out of touch leaders. I was in the office almost every week up until the pandemic, and have witnessed countless examples of everything mentioned above, to the point where I no longer want to come back to the office. I will leave at the first opputurtunity, as will countless others. Blue Chip has become a turnstile.

Pros

It's a great place to get a lesson in the real world.

Cons

As a former member of the "in" crowd there, everyone ought to know that all the 5-star reviews are from managers who have been told to write positive reviews to bring up the scores.

Growing Pains

Pros

Blue Chip really prides themselves on the socialization within the organization. If you fit in you will do really well here. Extremely well organized. They are have an impressive delivery methodology that they stick to. You can look up just about anything you need to know on previous projects delivered, documents used, current documents to use. This is kind of rare in some consulting companies.

Cons

Extremely toxic environment. They believe in confronting others about the problems you have with them. I did this multiple times only to feel like an idiot and even more of an outcast. I pride myself with being able to adapt work with just about anybody. However if your critical team member who holds seniority over you doesn't want to play nice with you, there is very little you can do. I say they have growing pains because they have hired ALOT of really nice people who bend over backwards to prove teamwork is the path to success. However pre existing members before their growth spurt likes to play games with some new hires and make their lives miserable. These senior members will eventually adapt and be forced to stop / become professional or be fired. Blue Chip is growing and they can't keep priding themselves on "Either you fit or you don't" mindset when there is obviously a theme in peoples experiences in the company. Blue Chip wants to be more inclusive however fails to execute due not wanting to face their friend / colleague they have built a relationship with and tell them to stop their toxic behavior. I don't think the people who are acting toxic are bad people. This is what happens when behavior goes uncheck and habits are formed. The partners at Blue Chip will wake up and engage / fix this problem as they truly love their employees. However currently the partners are blind that their council (Management and senior members) are the problem.
