Pros

Most people are hard working and just want to help pets

Cons

Rehoming is an understaffed department and everyone has too much to do and are spread to thin. Clear toxic politics with executive leadership team which filters through organisation like a virus. Unfortunately rehoming leadership have been over promoted and not got a scooby do! Meets are frustrating, often don’t make sense and nothing ever actually happens. Everything takes too long and is never embedded.

Toxic culture of ego control from the top

Pros

Colleagues who care about each other when they face bullying

Cons

Change in direction and priority projects constantly and if you question it you are marked as a trouble maker You are told to be positive always and display that as a personality trait. Those who say Yes to anything are used as an example of what Blue Cross wants as employees. If you are an introvert you will be judged and not progress. Directors are allowed to pick and choose projects they believe are best for the charity even against advice them demand money is raised People are sad, crying at home and stressed when they care and work hard

Pros

Incredibly caring frontline people who are trying to help animals.

Cons

Animals unable to get into centres. Zero direction from leaders. Strategy changes constantly every few years and never seems to actually help animals. Always a changing vision for the future so nothing is stuck to and everyone counting numbers of pets helped/moved/seen/breathed on...it starts to mean nothing. So many empty pens, no vet staff to help urgent cases. Changing priorities constantly that it feels the charity wants to help people as a priority over pets as strays and complex cases seen as too difficult to bother with. Don't understand the charity anymore.
