Pros

There are multiple opportunities to learn new things to help yourself and the company grow. With such a refined niche in the industry we work in it makes it pretty fun to work in because of that cutting edge nature. There aren't a ton of people here so we all know each other pretty well and we keep good relationships with each other, and it doesn't hurt to have that positivity when you spend most of each day working together.

Cons

Young companies have growing pains, which Blue Marble has gotten through in most cases. Communication can be difficult but it's another hurdle to climb over.

Pros

The company allows for professional growth and encourage employees grow in areas they are most interested in. Blue Marble is made up of a diverse group with specialties in various fields, which allows for idea’s to really prosper. Everyone is fun to work with and everyone seems to get along very well. Employee drama is very minimal. The Executive team is very different than other companies. They are very easy to communicate with and keep the company up to speed on current projects. The biggest perk to this job is being able to live Western Montana. The benefits offered are really awesome!

Cons

The workload sometimes consists of multiple projects. Since this is a start up company in Montana, the pay is a little below the national average, but we get to live in Montana which is amazing!

A Company with a vision

Pros

I came from an academic research environment and my goal was to get experience in industry by being part of a team that makes products that impact our everyday lives. It is a very collaborative environment, unlike in academia where you only interact with colleagues from the same department, at Blue Marble we interact and work with almost everyone in all departments. It is a very dynamic environment that encourages creativity and innovation in research- this is very helpful especially if you are looking for opportunities to grow. As an R & D Chemist, I have worked on many different projects thereby expanding my knowledge base and experience. Definitely a place for any chemist who would like to start a career in industry. Safety issues are handled with a high degree of diligence and commitment from the management. The vision, expectations and where the company is going are well defined.

Cons

As with all Biotech companies, there is always some positive pressure for experienced scientists to make a difference. Therefore, Blue Marble is always striving to get the right combination of the skills set and cultural fits within the organization. Blue Marble is a growing company and one of the few companies in Montana hiring graduates especially in the scientific disciplines, hence a lot of competition for any open positions.
