Pros

Uptown Minneapolis location was always busy. Flexible hours. The neighborhood was diverse. Employee discount.

Cons

Management turnover: -5 General managers in 4 years. -Lost count of FOH managers. It's in the upper teens. -Poor communication with staff regarding upcoming promotions and policy changes. Work Enviroment -The uniform for females promotes harassment from customers and co-workers. When this was brought up to corporate they edited the training manual to remove the sexist verbiage and did nothing about the issue of harassment. -Incidents where guest sexually harassed employees were ignored. Employees were told to deal with it, or "they are only here for a little bit." -When harassment came from co-workers, a change of schedule was suggested. -Poor recognition of employee accomplishments or contribution. Coorporate used to give out hams for Christmas and would sometimes buy a meal (no more than $12) for winning sales contests. BPRC prides themselves in being a company that contributes to the community, which they do. They don't really treat their employees in a respectful way. -Opportunities for advancement are limited to wether or not you can drink the company Kool-Aid.

Pros

the food thats good is really good, or its something completely different. solid kitchen systems. hourly staff can make great tips. I felt like I just got out of a detention camp when my last day there was over. - I wanted to celebrate freedom.

Cons

reality is so different than what they preach in teh interview process. split days off. too many close/opens. long hours and treated poorly by upper mgmt. one of the most openly hostile environments I have experienced unless you enjoy being verbally abused by upper mgmt in front of guests and staff. I was told on day one that I would never have a life outside of work while I worked for them. (pre-hire they talked about culture and opportunities). the worst company I have ever worked for. managers are paranoid that newly hired managers are going to undermine them or replace them. I never encountered anyone who left there with fond memories.

Pros

They will teach you the basics and there's usually a good group of support staff and back of house staff.

Cons

Management undermines your ability (even with their specifc training) and destroys any confidence you thought you had.
