Pros

A startup with good ideas about climate change and capitalism Flexible timings. Pay is on time After working at blue sky analytics, any job will feel amazing

Cons

No clear direction on product development due to lack of experience and technical skill Founders are rude and keep changing plans. Employees keep doing all sorts odd jobs to appease founders Ceo's management style is to micromanage and constantly name drop about IITS, and foreign universities from the get go. It gets a little monotonous after a while. Employees rewarded based on personal relationship with founders. People laid off due to poor management sometimes on a company retreat. Severance is out of question.

Pros

Good food Flexible working hours some early employees are good Good interview process

Cons

Poor top management Poor communication between top management - Once they layoff an employee and then say by mistake we fired you as they gave warning to other employee. Unethical - They will not give you complete salary No notice period - Be aware even after writitng in offer letter 1 month notice period, they will not give you salary. Only takes into account how can they raise more money - No care for Climate Change. unethical layoff process- they will mail you in the middle of night and remove you from all groups which clearly shows weak leadership qualities. No value of skills

Hi. Your contract was terminated instantly due to Covid lockdown and hence Notice Period was not initiated. Large companies like Airbnb, Zomato, Uber fired thousands of people at Covid onset, while Blue Sky was just a 8 member team which laid off 3 least performing employees to manage the impending cash crunch. In addition, the team that stayed also took voluntary paycut upto 40% to navigate covid induced uncertainties and elongate company runway. Hope that clarifies things. On the point of management, thank you for the feedback. We are working on building more solid mid management to manage junior staff so that we can address these issues.

Pros

Good marketing strategy. Looks rosy on the outside. There are some good people as employees.

Cons

Tips to survive in this company. Grease the cofounders ego. If in any case you think of giving a feedback, forget it. If you still want to give, be ready for unpleasant consequences. The top management are not easy to get a hold of. If you work with them directly, prepare yourself to run behind them for days on end for their approval. And get prepared to get screamed at any point of time when they woke up on the wrong side of the bed and realised the same task you ran behind them for weeks is not done. The cofounders feedback on tasks are damn funny. "I don't like this" When you probe further on what aspect they don't like, you will never get a reply. This shows their own inability to streamline thoughts and no clarity on their part. So you have to have super powers that could read their thoughts and deliver. It doesn't matter if you just joined a week ago or have been there 3 years. The own your device policy that they so proudly advertise... It's like those mutual funds ads. They will advertise as - you get to keep the device once you complete a certain specified period working with them. "The fast forward announcement of the ad" - If they don't like you, you will be asked to return the device. The Provident fund contribution from the company side is also included as part of your CTC. Go to the negotiation table with this information. If by any chance you get on their wrong side, (read-not greasing their ego at all and decided to have a spine) be prepared to get fired in the middle of the night. It's like a pet peeve to fire people at midnight with no prior information. They don't encash your earned leaves. Be prepared once in a while to get rant texts by the cofounders on how much they worked, no one else worked as much as them and making the rest feels like they have done nothing as compared to them! Forget that its a job and you are giving your skills and service for a fixed salary. But Go above and beyond! (Read-Feel guilty about taking this as just a job. Be miserable minions!) You won't get timely feedback from them until they decide to fire you. As above have that superpower to read minds. All those 5 star feedbacks on Glassdoor, the HR asked employees to write. They never never never talk about sales and funding to employees. No transparency at all from their end. So be prepared for the worst if you want to work here. Or like mentioned above, have super power to read minds.
