Pros

Paychecks, there is little other reason to work for them other than you get paychecks.

Cons

1. Overtime is restricted to senior personnel 2. Complaints are punished via reduction in hours. 3. The employee is always wrong 4. The employee is expected to revolve their life around the company. 5. If you call off for any reason, you are encouraged to quit. (A guy tried to call off for a medical emergency involving his mother in law, he was told "That's not a good enough reason, are you coming in, or are you self terminating?" 6. Scared to go into detail [illegal activity that can get you sued for millions and locked up] 7. Forcing officers to use their own vehicles and fuel to bounce all over the city. 8. Forcing officers to do non security related duties (passing out newsletters and notices) 9. Forcing officers to handle clerical duties. (time sheets, submitting reports directly to clients)

Pros

You can get great exercise. You get to be outdoors. You get to work at night, when it's typically the coolest.

Cons

You will lack a clean conscience... If you continue to stay, without legit purpose, when you are rightfully in the knowing..... The BlueSteel hiring activity mirrors the activity of the 'life insurance' company, hiring activity. That explains itself. They hire on the spot, every week, and they give you an unpaid four hour orientation. You get a, "we want to look politically correct drug test", and this cotton swab test....you as a new hire - will pay for. You get one unpaid 'field training' day, and if you're there past a certain amount of days - they will compensate you for that field training day. Other than myself - I came across, only one guard (Who recently left) that did not come to the post 2 to 3 hours after they were scheduled, and or did not leave the post 2 to 3 hours before they were off duty. So far, the pattern seems to be that; the most skilled, wise, confident, secure, and trustworthy employees...leave. A sergeant and a security officer reported that they (BlueSteel Admin) 'fudge' DARS reports. They stated that the company averages 54 hours of patrol time that they cannot fulfill. So, with this said.....There are several apartment complexes, that have contracts with them, that are receiving 'fudged' DARS reports; when in fact - no security patrol officer was there. This make some sense (IA - reasonable suspicion), because BlueSteel security is constantly hiring, and they're using two superficial looking girls, next to a blue Mustang - while offering these 'hiring bonuses'. I've seen the ad up, and it's up, just about every week. In addition to why this is a 'reasonable suspicion'...is because - I know that there are many security guards that 'fudge' their own DARS reports. Yes...as you will see; the scheduling department is an issue. They are not excused. I've been in similar shoes, and there is a way more proficient way to schedule. Yes, they have sent guards to the wrong properties, and or they sent you information with the wrong field training day, and or field training day and location. Now, if they have to 'fudge' DARS reports, and try to smoke screen a security patrol officer being at various properties, when they're not - that is likely to have an impact on the scheduling department. They like to give a kudos, to their scheduling employees too. I found out and saw the kudos 'advertised' on Facebook. These two schedulers have not figured out - that they need to communicate with each other. So, you can give them an update with your schedule, and or your location, and one receives that, and then he or she is not on - but he or she never relays that message to the other scheduler.... How is it, that they have been employed for so long....? Ahhhh..... The 'problem people' or parasitically inclined, are mainly the ones who last....and yes - they constantly cycle through people. So, people get drained out, tooled enough, and they push and try to make the job work - but eventually they had enough, and they leave within the first three months. Now, don't get me wrong....I've got many years of Security under my belt, and any contract company, will primarily be - garbage. Why do you think I would never work in administration...and why do you think I don't stay with them...... I like having a clean conscience, and I don't act on a willful negligence and a willful ignorance. If you have to choose, and if you have a choice - you're better off with in-house security. P.S. I have collected allot of electronic contact, documentation, and film clips, for evidence - to support my statements.

Pros

Very quick to acquire job

Cons

Throw you out without proper training just hoping you make mistakes to hit you with a $20 fine. Will not work with you. Very demeaning management. Threaten you with termination at every corner. Their goal is to make you afraid.
