Pros

I worked as a GSR at Boston Duck Tours for a few seasons and had an excellent experience. Made lots of friends and learned a lot about the travel and tourism industry, as well as customer service.

Cons

Working with the public - especially tourists - can be frustrating at times. Days are long, and they feel longer when you are working outside on hot and humid summer days, but that is out of the control of the company. I would say the most trying part is dealing with unhappy customers. Because this tour is so popular, it sells out fast, and there are lots of disappointed tourists who don't get tickets in time, and they might take out their frustration on you.

Pros

Benefit package, four day work schedule.

Cons

Unaccomplished promises (when first hired there was a skill level set where you would move up as you went along, but then they retired that incentive a couple of months after working for them). Very racist supervisors that would only train their own. The manager on my crew made it very difficult to ask him any questions, as he would explain things too quickly and if you didn't understand the first time, he would look at you like you had 10 heads and would seem aggravated when you asked him questions.
