Pros

A job where you get paid...poorly.

Cons

Management is awful. No mentorship. Awful communication. Need to live in Boston while barely making a livable wage, even with an advanced degree. Management lives in a bubble. People are rude. No kindness exists here. They fake interview people because they already decide a priori who they want for a promotion. This isn’t a business, it’s government.

Pros

Great mission and committed line staff. Great benefits.

Cons

BPHC is a very hierarchical organization. Promotions are based on favoritism. Managers are not held accountable for how they treat/mistreat staff leading to constant turnover of staff. HR is dysfunctional - their main function seems to be protecting the hierarchy and protecting their jobs. Low morale - after a few years, staff either leave or settle into doing the minimum. Although the benefits are great; pay is low (unless you are one of the favorites)!

Pros

I have a job and am not unemployed or homeless, and that's it. Coworkers are nice, but eventually leave, especially if they are bright, because managers don't respect their employees.

Cons

Awful management. Poor supervision. Lack of routine performance evaluations, as they are voluntary. Human resources is a joke, and is bizarrely afraid of conflict, and therefore will not assist in conflict resolution.
