Management expects a lot from employees but does not give competitive package of benefits and compensation. No allowances or incentive programs especially for newbies. Some people there also tend to micromanage bordering to bullying of new employees. While some will leave you hanging. You will always find yourself in a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. HR is not really functioning as HR, mainly focused on hiring and payroll only. Do not trust that rotting HR team for your concerns. They will just gaslight you most of the time under the pretense of company values. They are very big on that values that they incorporate these values in company events meant to be enjoyed by employees yet they use this for their propaganda. It is tolerable but can be infuriating since managers are above the rules they set on employees. Not practicing what they preach. New engineers are hired through agency. They can easily terminate employees they do not favor. They can do same day termination for all agency hired employees such as labor workers, admin staff and engineers. Engineers can be directly hired after three years with two projects. Work can be enjoyable if you focus on that but it can be too tiring at times. Job roles in production as engineer is more on running batches of paint production, so work can be physically exhausting because you stand and walk the production floor most of the times which can get you and your hands dirty from handling chemicals and all the while managing production staff on manual labors. They also don't allow you flexibility in work schedule. 6 working days to complete 48 hours but mandatory 2 hours OT everyday. Compressed schedule can be implemented to accommodate 5 working days but they won't give you the freedom to have 2 days off. No opportunities for training. Trainings are given to employees based on manager's preference and seniority on tenure. Even for in-house trainings, it is like you have to prove you deserve a slot. External trainings are minimal to non-existent. Management and bosses are stingy and frugal. They don't like spending a lot that even some company events do not have budget allocations from top management and some employees have to contribute to join. Career path is not really something an engineer would appreciate if you are looking for meaningful career and growth. The mfg site in QC is old so many processes are done manually. The job description is more fit for production supervisor instead of process engineer. You will gain people management and decision making skills. You won't learn any process optimization software tools here. All data are managed and summarized in excel. No performance metrics in production department other than efficiency or time to produce a product which largely depends on the pace of the area engineer since processes are manual. Managers and team leader will unreasonably pressure you to increase productivity. Most high level employees are experienced but still incompetent. This company really is mediocre at its best. So it can feel suffocating to work here and be mentored by these people and be in this kind of environment.

Small salary increase, Little to no promotions (engineers work there for long and yet theyre not even manager level) , No bonus (there is but its more of a bond bonus that you get after 5 years), Limited learnings, Agency hired, mandatory OTs (work sched is 10 hours per day), No work life balance, Management is too traditional, no care at all for employees mental health. High turnover rate. If you want to master office politics and dont mind heavy workload, stay here.
