Pros

- Creative talent is great and produce amazing designs - The people who are great there are actually amazing - A good place if you're fresh out of college and looking to get acclimated to a working environment. - Free lunches on Thursdays - Free snacks/drinks - 4-day work week

Cons

- Team members are given "manager" or "director" titles and positions before having any actual experience of leading a team and a developed work ethic. - Management lacks proper work ethic and respect. They are quick to use their titles and flex their position when they are challenged or do not get their way. (ex. A manager kicked the back of my chair in the middle of a meeting because I didn't hear what they were trying to tell me. Another manager would roll eyes at internal meetings constantly. ) - COVID-19 was a taboo topic on this team. Anyone who got sick or got COVID-19 were either shamed or pressure to work if there is a deadline rather than given support. - The company let their clients run them and then wonder why they are always put in a slave and master relationship. - The team focuses a lot on what looks good rather than substance and then hopes that the client will buy it. They focus a lot of on the external vs. internal. Expect any client-facing email to be read by someone above you to give you the ok because they are afraid of you offending the client and they don't trust you. - A lot of focus on things don't matter rather than things that do. - Ideas and strategies are quickly stolen and credit is not given. - Director tends to gatekeep "marketing strategies" for more higher-level team members, but they do not actually provide any strategies when you review their pitch decks and presentations. - If you're looking to develop your marketing career, you will hit a plateau very quickly because the team lacks strategic intelligence and experience. They focus more on recycling tactics to solve client's short-term needs and employs the same tactic across all clients. - No efficient processes which always leads to bottleneck because upper management does not trust anyone. There's no autonomy. - It's a toxic environment if you don't drink the "Kool-aid". If you're not a part of their cheer squad/sorority, expect any mistake to be magnified - especially bullying. All the cheerleaders/sorority sisters get a free pass if they make any mistake. If you're not sipping the Kool-Aid, expect your name to come up in office gossip or if you're in a disagreement, they will tag-team on you and put you on blast when you mess up. - There's no flexibility even though you're salaried. If you leave slightly early because you finish your work, it's frowned upon, but if you stay until 9PM back-to-back, you will be praised. Working overtime consistently is a core criteria for promotion, not actual performance. - When you leave, they tell you that you're never going to get any experience like working with the, and then tell you that you're not as good as you think you are.

Pros

The advertising business is mostly full of crazy hours, unrelenting deadlines, grumpy people and tremendous burn out. That's not Brandtailers. They may not always have the flashiest client list, but they have good clients, and a CEO who understands the way to keep good staff around a long time is to almost force balance in their lives. Rarely late hours, hardly ever weekends, quarterly fun "Play Days" and a whole lot of flexibility to manage work and life. Pay is more than fair, plus year-end profit sharing plan makes staff feel like co-owners.

Cons

Sometimes the chaos of crazy hours can create a buzz around the office. So sometimes, because it's not that environment, it can seem a little too quiet. But if that's the worst problem, who cares?

Pros

Company culture is always to the benefit of the employee. Benefits are great. Collaboration between the account team and designers are among the best in this business Great location

Cons

Working in the ad game is rough, long hours and tight deadlines but working at BT seems to soften those rough edges
