      The company is completely fine with its unethical operations

      Pros

      Free occasional chip bags? The bathroom is working at least on the shared workspace floor.

      If you're in need of Online Reputation Management services and are considering using BrandYourself's service, I highly recommend you don't. Employees, managers and the C-suite know it doesn't work most of the time (probably 50% of clients end up dropping before their contract is up). If you're a prospective employee looking for a job opportunity, you should know that 1) it's highly unlikely you'll see a raise, 2) it's a revolving door, 3) there is no culture, and 4) you will be treated like you are worthless. The company doesn't see you as a budding individual with an opportunity to build your professional skill set. Instead, as someone below put it beautifully, you are a content drone. Your sole purpose is to write a mind-numbing amount of blog posts, ghostwritten for someone who has committed a heinous crime. You will also deal with many, many angry customers who aren't seeing the results they paid for. Prepare to take a verbal lashing often.

      Thanks for the feedback. It’s important for us to take stock and improve. It’s true that part of working here is having difficult conversations with clients but we think this is a valuable communication skill. We also strive to treat all of our clients with respect and lack of judgment since many of them are dealing with highly personal and sensitive issues. One of our top three service objectives for 2017 is to improve efficacy and to help we’ve invested in positions related to more robust training and SEO R&D. As far as raises go, it’s very rare for team members not to receive a raise after a year. If they don’t, they are given goals to work toward before we make that adjustment. While we we don’t invest heavily in perks like wall to wall snacks, fridges full of beer, etc. we have made some improvements to the environment recently: - Catered lunch once a month from rotating local spots - Healthy snacks, coffee, and tea ordered daily (NYC just got a new cold brew machine!) - Employee of the month competition - as voted for by the employees! Prizes range from $100 gift cards, $250 hard cash to a $1000 office event in your honor - Company sponsored happy hours - when we’ve earned them! We want everyone who joins BY to get something from the experience and all feedback helps so thanks again.

      Fake Glassdoor Reviews? Completely Unsurprising.

      The people in the Concierge department are terrific. At least, they were. Pretty sure there are about 5 people left in that department because of employee churn.

      Cons

      Truly the most ethically bankrupt company I've ever worked for. Your clients will be criminals, abusers and liars - but as long as they're willing to pay for a membership, you'll be expected to take their abuse (and good luck talking to your manager about it - they're all OG cronies who would die for the company and couldn't care less about you. They're the same ones writing the completely fabricated positive reviews on this page). Also, if you do end up taking a job at BY, expect to watch your coworkers come and go on a monthly basis. People used to cry in the bathroom in the NYC office. I'm not kidding at all when I say that if I wanted to, I could start a BY Alum support group tonight and have 50 members by the time the office opens tomorrow morning. I can't emphasize enough how QUICKLY you should RUN AWAY from BrandYourself - that is, if you want to be able to sleep at night knowing you're *not* helping bad people sweep their misdeeds and crimes under the virtual rug. SAVE YOURSELF and KEEP LOOKING!

      Lots of feedback that we want to take on board. One thing we definitely agree with is that the people in the Concierge department are terrific! You’re very right about the churn in NYC, though . The short explanation is that we relocated the whole ~35 person department but here’s a more detailed overview of the transition. To accommodate the growth in Concierge sustainably, we relocated that department to a second office in Lancaster, PA. In planning for the transition, we had employees’ best interests as our top priority: - We gave the department 9 months notice - Everyone could relocate and we provided financial incentives - For those who wanted to stay in NYC, we offered work from home programs - We always interviewed internally first for positions in other depts. and managed to transfer nearly 20% of Concierge to other NYC teams - For those who wanted to leave, BY offered to help with resume building, connected employees with hiring managers and gradually reduced workloads to accommodate job hunting Finally, not everyone agrees with our mission - and that’s okay! That’s why we’ve made changes to our interview process to make sure candidates understand our philosophy before they sign on. Thanks for taking the time. We take all feedback to heart and try to use it to keep improving!

      Young, fun, hard-working startup with a strong vision and great company culture

      Pros

      • High energy growth-phase startup with lots of exciting projects going on all the time. • Familial culture. Open, supportive atmosphere. Everyone helps each other out and is willing to lend a hand if you have any questions. • You learn a lot marketable skills (search engine optimization, copywriting, client communication and retention, social media marketing, etc.) • Company has a strong vision for changing the industry for the better • People who go above and beyond get rewarded and often create new positions for themselves • You're challenged to do great work because people really care, but in a relaxed environment • Free snacks and periodically catered lunches

      Cons

      None come to mind, it's really a great place to work.
