Pros
The men in the field are some of the best people I've had the pleasure of working alongside. Life-long friendships will be formed. The pay is decent for a decent employee. Many hours are available for those who need them. The company will take care of you in the winter and ensure you are comfortable.. if it is in their best interest. Some opportunities for growth. A top-notch construction coordinator is responsible for the men in the field. The experience of the Asphalt Crews, from Supervisors to Labourers, is phenomenal. A great culture to be a part of. A great place to work for any lower-tier employee.
Cons
Being complicit in shady/unethical practices. Opportunities for growth are limited and contingent on bending the knee. The problems start with ownership and filter through to management. In a give/take scenario, be prepared to give more than what you take. There is a lean toward punishment on hearsay as opposed to gathering information from both sides and configuring fair action. Favouritism is prevalent in all facets of the corporation. Corruption is high.
