Pros
- The work is very fulfilling. You are helping children with Autism learn life skills and social skills to function in the world. But it's hard work. - They will pay for you to get your certification if you do not already have it. - They try to keep your hours consistent as much as possible, even when there are client cancellations. - There are kind and helpful people on the team.
Cons
- There was a general lack of professionalism from some staff members. - The training process is very short and the job is very overwhelming, if you don't have experience in the field, you will hit a lot of road blocks. - It is easy to get burnt out. They were regularly understaffed during my time there. The break room is not a real break room, so most people are eating lunch in their car. Support staff are overwhelmed. And they don't take feedback well. - There is not a really consistent sanitation schedule and germs are rampant with kiddos. There were usually 2-3 sick staff members at any given time. And there is not paid sick leave so a lot of people come in when they should be at home and it just spreads.
