Destroying a once decent company

Pros

Manager dependent, but not much to state here.

Cons

They are destroying what used to be an amazing company and eroding the culture on a daily basis. They do not care about their employees, clients or contractual obligations… just their stock value and stake-holders. Funny thing, their stock is rapidly declining under current leadership, which is public information. CEO is way out of his league here and has no business running a landscape company - he has never known a hard days work in his life and now makes unilateral decisions for the company. They only care about growth, not service which is why retention, both employee and client, are immensely declining. You cannot grow without first retaining what you have hence why company Net New is often trending in decline not growth. Training used to be a big deal here. Now everything is just a digital catalog. Also, largest company (by far) in the industry but also pays the least and offers no technology, proprietary or otherwise. All of our systems are incredibly outdated and just create more work and longer turnaround times for clients. Yet, spent a fortune to install big brother in all management trucks - watch and listen to you 24/7. Yes, 24/7 (video AND audio) even in your personal time outside of business hours when you pay out of your own pocket to have the truck. Can’t communicate internally, left hand never knows what the right hand is doing… how do you think that reads to our clients. Not well.

Pros

Pay dependent on load, fellow coworkers.

Cons

Management, especially upper management will directly lie to your face about the status of what you will be joining. I was told I would be helping establish a growing "sister" branch, I was told the properties were not that bad and just needed some things ironed out. Upon meeting each account, I learned that there no account manager for almost 4 months prior to my joining and they were livid. I spent 6 months working from 7 to 7 alongside having to drive an hour to and from home to be told that I was "Not on site enough" and "Didn't care". This company will lie to your face, not train you, leave you alone with no support, and will drop and blame you for poor performance when your largest contract decides to cancel renewal less than 2 months after you started working there. Play close attention to the wording they use, the deflection of blame and responsibility, and the lack of making good decisions. Please keep track of them constantly telling you to white lie to every customer about every situation while also telling you the best way to gain trust is to be transparent. DO NOT spend more time here than you need to and DO NOT work more than what seems reasonable for being in a salary position (roughly 45 hours max). They will throw you under the bus the second it becomes available as management, especially upper management only looks to make themselves look better while deflecting all blame possible.
