Pros
I started working at Brilliant, before they went through their re-branding. It was a company that had outstanding leadership, an entrepreneurial mindset, and you could be successful.
Cons
Unfortunately, greed gets in the way. Their commission structure wasn't competitive; however, you could definitely earn a solid income. When they decided to scale and started adding layers of management, the company became a revolving door. I saw the writing on the wall and got out at a great time. They implemented metrics, and the environment became toxic, even if you were a successful employee. They wanted more and more, and the company only cared about name recommendation and winning awards. Even though I was exceeding my goals, it wasn't good enough. That wasn't what I signed up for when I joined the company. Even though it's been years since I left, all of the original founders are practically gone, and "word on the street" is that they were given checks by the owner and pushed out the door. It amazes me that this company continues to win awards, because it is definitely not one of the "best places to work."
