Pros

Salary was okay. Short commute if you live nearby.

Cons

Garden variety tech startup; very sales driven, not much focus on the long term. Was acquired in early 2021 and went downhill fast. Culture is typical Silicon Slopes techbro stuff (still laughing about the time in 2019 when everyone was losing their minds over the Robin Hood app). Not bad if you're looking for a career stepping stone if you can tolerate the culture and don't mind obscene, unachievable expectations. Oh, and they told me they couldn't accommodate WFH two months before the pandemic started. They had their best year ever in 2020 (finally broke even!!), promptly sold out (despite the CEO constantly harping on how he wanted to hand the company on to his kids), and shortly thereafter forced everyone back to the windowless gray box because of reasons. Glad I left when I did.

Pros

Any benefit or perk to working for Briostack was done away with or extremely limited and replaced with useless corporate resources over the last couple years since being bought by Evercommerce.

Cons

- Definition of micromanagement - then gaslight you and tell you it's not micromanagement - Any constructive feedback to leadership was met with condescending explanations and a fast-track ticket to being put on a PIP or micromanaged - Extreme lack of communication and vision from leadership - Territories, commission structures, priorities, initiatives, and focus changed consistently daily, weekly, and monthly. - Underperforming employees who were in the good graces of leadership were kept on with no accountability while other employees were set up for failure with insane PIP requirements if they didn't perform one month or raised disagreement with processes. - Commission structure is impossible to obtain consistently given that leadership does not align the seasonality of the pest control industry with Evercommerce's expectations. Do not understand how to compensate correctly and fairly for larger deals - Leadership out of touch with customer profile and industry - Leadership talks behind employee's backs to others instead of addressing concerns privately 1 on 1 - Leadership is beholden to Evercommerce and pass the buck to the CS, engineering, and sales teams if anything doesn't meet expectations - Good, hard working people who joined Briostack to grow and improve were met with criticism and provided no support or training before being let go - Leadership play favorites depending on who drinks the most Brio Kool-aid - Many, many other examples that show a consistent history of people being screwed over, lack of training and support, and inconsistent vision and direction from leadership

Pros

As much as I hate to say it...there aren't really any pros anymore.

Cons

There used to be a lot more pros than what there are now. If there's one term that fits this company, it's wasted potential. This place has all the potential in the world to be the best place to work at. When I started, I didn't think I'd ever leave. Now it's a place where for the last 3-4 months, I've dreaded going to work. We've had 3, going on 4, sales directors in a year and a half. 1 quitting because management pushed him too far, 1 muscled out because he wouldn't go with what management was wanting, and the other fired for the same reason. If you're looking for somewhere that you feel valued, get good training, can give feedback openly, and can ask clarifying questions, keep looking. This is not the place for you. The active subscribers the company has are getting fed up and can tell that things are taking a turn. Despite this feedback being given, management still doesn't thing anything needs to change. Most of the sales team is fed up and has given up on providing feedback. If you come work here, you will be micromanaged and will constantly have your work questioned. No matter how much you do, it will not be good enough. This is all blunt, and harsh and I never thought I'd be saying these things. I just don't want anyone applying here without knowing the truth. Things could turn around. Absolutely. But unless management starts taking some ownership over their actions, opens their eyes, and stops blaming the problems on everyone else, nothing will change.
