Pros

Onboarded well. Their onboarding seminar was great, called BTU. Overall nice people.

Cons

Impossible workload. Laid off so many people the work is unmanageable. Everyone is stressed thin to the max. Unrealistic expectations. Want a promotion, in your dreams. Cutting lots of perks promised upfront.

Pros

Remote work was cool I guess.

Cons

Tone deaf senior level/executive leadership that only look out for themselves even though they are the primary reason the company is doing so poorly in the first place. During the most recent round of layoffs it seems that they targeted primarily senior level employees with a lot of tenure. This was likely a strategic move by the company to cut all of the higher salaries and keep the lower salaries around to pick up the slack as a last ditch effort to try and save the business. Spoiler alert: Things won’t get better and now the remaining employees are stuck with 4x the work with likely no pay increase in sight. They also recently acquired another ad agency and one of the employees saw how bad the inner workings of Brkthru were and immediately put in his resignation. Yikes. Unfortunately they can’t get out of their way when it comes to making brain dead/tone deaf decisions and after a month of completely upending the lives of roughly 20% of their employees they go ahead and announce a new “VP of Growth”... I’m sure there was a collective groan from all the remaining ICs once that was announced.

Pros

Working remotely, but many companies do the same.

Cons

They constantly moves employees around to different teams, which creates a lot of unnecessary disruption for both teammates and clients. Every time you are moved, you have to relearn the entire book of 50 to 100+ clients, new accounts, historical context, performance trends, client expectations, and internal workflows all over again. It makes it difficult to build consistency or provide the best support to clients. Internally, the company is very unstable. Morale is low, people are leaving frequently almost every week across departments, and current employees are actively looking for other opportunities. Leadership does not respect employee capacity, so long hours are common and work-life balance is basically nonexistent. The workload continues to pile up, but there are not enough people left to manage it properly. Overall, the company is struggling internally and financially, and the remaining employees are expected to absorb more and more work. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for stability, healthy leadership, or real work-life balance. Save yourself, we'll be out of here soon.
