    I have been working at Brown-Forman full-time

    Pros

Every single employee lives and breathes the cultural values. Relatively young, enigmatic and innovative leaders that show empathy toward those below them in terms of reports. A very diverse group of employees which is highlighted in a male dominated industry. Personal development is taken very seriously, and internal promotions are favoured over external recruitment. Highly efficient and effective organisational structure. Very low rate of turn over - in fact, I read recently that the average tenure for Brown-Forman employees in the US is 10 years. I’m not sure what the average tenure in Aus is, but I’d imagine it’s around the same. HR department actually listens to, cares about and strives to resolve any concerns, rather than foremost and exclusively caring about the reputation of the company. Generous annual product allowance along with a multitude of other benefits (including free mental health services).

    Cons

There really are none. I’m serious.

I have been working at Brown-Forman full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great Brands, Great work/life balance, fun culture. Minimal pressure compared to other FMCG companies with a great team ethos.

    Cons

No career path development, flat organisation makes career progression difficult. Lack of pressure/accountability can let some coast along leaving heavy lifting to others. Also some "job's for the boys" with opportunities not offered on merit.

I have been working at Brown-Forman full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Fantastic brands- (Just not leveraged enough as if company is scared to strong arm) Staff gratuities- ($500 per year, bought retail on company credit card.) FMCV- (Average age of cars in company owned fleet is approx 5 years.) Staff taught to be humble- (I have to apologise for something to customers at least once a day)

    Cons

See all of above in brackets. Rediculous call cycle expectations- mantra used to be Quality not Quantity but not now. Slowly replacing sales staff with an outside merchandising company. Below industry average salary. Can't work out what 'demand planning' means. Cannot, no matter how hard they try, launch a new product to save their life!

  8. "A company that truly values its people and where the leaders are not represented as the only achievers."

    I have been working at Brown-Forman full-time

    Pros

I work in Australia where the people are valued and the leadership team is fun, strategic and empowering. Diversity is really important and people are encouraged to bring ideas to the table. It's a small team so prepare to have fun, laugh loud and be known. Even though it's a multi-national matrix, the US partners are humble and great to work with. Office culture is amazing. Flexible work practices are common and everyone loves laughing and having fun.

    Cons

People who join think they're working for a big corporate. B-F is a big name with big name brands but the company is very small so you can't hide. Anyone who comes into the business and doesn't want to get their hands dirty by getting in among the action or collaborating with functions outside their scope will not have a very good time.
