Pros

Stable financials, protected competitive position, good gym

Cons

There is so much wasted opportunity here because of upper management. The CEO, Tim Costello, is a savant but also a hot-head who regularly screams at employees in front of large groups of colleagues. The whole company can hear when it happens and we all just feel bad for the employee getting berated. His long-time sidekick, Melissa Morman, is an organizational negative, not a positive. BHI subsists on its original consortium/owner relationships and as head of client experience, Melissa has done nothing to further the company sales or account management. In fact, her MO is to belittle everyone and their ideas without offering ideas of her own that actually make a difference. Failure is blamed on everyone else and any minimal success is owned by Melissa. I was on the account team for a few years and was relieved to leave it behind, like others before me. The company culture emanates from the top, and that's not a good thing. And they will never admit and/or fix this. Between that and general stagnation from old site architecture and too much time spent on administrative BS (the entire company spends a full week+ prepping for a monthly operations review meeting with executives), the company just isn't fulfilling it's potential as a business or a workplace.

Pros

I met some people I truly consider friends. Flexible schedule and the ability to work from home as needed was amazing. Location was great for me, but its pretty far north, almost in Cedar Park.

Cons

Everything else? The CEO is one of the most self-involved people I have ever known. He seems to think he is the only person with an idea, and if he thinks of something, he seems to believe he invented it! He has zero tact, and screams to and about anyone that disagrees with him. Don't even think about requesting an appropriate pay raise when you get switched to a postion that is above your current one. All you will get in return is openly berated with reasons why you should be replaced with people from India who will work harder for a third the pay. In fact, it would not be surprising if most of the positions here eventually make their way to India or Costa Rica. They had already stacked up technology in both locations and artists in India before I left. This place runs its best employees right into the ground with a serious lack of appreciation for hard work, skills, or dedication. Work here only if you can muster the strength to be passed over for promotions, talked to with absolute disrespect, and just completely have the soul sucked out of you for giving your hard work and time for the benefit of a terrible CEO. The pay is not good enough for your troubles. There are far better companies to work for, with far better pay and benefits. Ones that won't constantly threaten to ship your job off shore because you dared to be a human being with an opinion.

Pros

The gym is nice if you are into Basketball..

Cons

if you value your dignity, you should stay away from this place. They don't pay that well. In fact, they will treat you like you owe them money for the privilege of working there. The "CTO" is pretty clueless about technology in general. uses a whole bunch of buzzwords he does not understand and his subordinates laugh at his ideas behind his back. This last one may be a pro?
