Pros

Still a few good people there, but none of them in places of influence. Used to be a fun place to work.

Cons

- Unrealistic expectations - High stress - No work life balance - Lacks transparency - “Leaders” lack accountability - No consistency in company direction - Constant fear of continued staff reduction - No formal reviews or training - No merit increases - Haphazard hiring and firing of employees - Fire/retain people based on popularity not performance - Overall, this company lacks integrity

Pros

Employees are great, everyone is friendly and willing to pull long hours and weekends to help the team goals.

Cons

No security, they expect 12-16 hours a day at month end with no overtime. Low pay for all positions and will terminate you no matter your experience level. Very few employees stay more than 2 years with the company yet they have been in business over 12 years, that says a lot about employee retention or appreciation.

Pros

Able to grow my skills and career in a short period of time

Cons

I would echo some of the more negative reviews of this company. This was one of the most stressful jobs I’ve ever had, and for some of the lowest pay I’ve ever had. It was so stressful, there was a point in time I was actually looking forward to having surgery because it meant I could have some time off. I said under pros I was able to grow my career in a short amount of time, that’s because I was performing multiple full time jobs at once. There was lots of recognition of the hard work I did, but they only reward for all that hard work was more work. There was never any accountability on the management side when things went wrong, only blame on lower level employees, which was really frustrating because management never clearly explained expectations or handled change management well. I didn’t quite realize how unreasonable the expectations for the job were until I found a new job. I feel like my work load is about 20% what it was at Builders Capital and I’m making 20% more. BC will make lots of promises about how you can grow your career, they're only telling you half the truth. You’ll be so burnt out after a year working there you won’t care about your career anymore.
