Pros

Not always monthly pay & the people you can meet although there's still plenty of very ignorant & very rude people that work on this site & from around this area.

Cons

A huge amount as follows...Rock bottom money with having to work a week in advance because they only pay you up to a week behind the current date which is an insult. You should be paid up until the date you have worked & when minimum wage increases you don't get it on time because of this very poor but crafty & clever set up for them. (Employers have it all their own way.) There's some extremely ignorant staff on site even when you say hello to their face some completely ignore you extremely rudely. I don't know how some people think & can be comfortable doing that & sleep of a night afterwards. Some staff that think they're gods gift on the maintenance team especially David W who is one of the rudest people on site (for no reason at all) & takes some beating although Karen A on control is close. (The perfect couple.) Poor, weak, & ignorant management that have no respect for their staff after all their efforts especially. No hello most of the time, no bye & zero thanks for all your efforts rushing around for rock bottom wage when you leave. Extremely high staff turnover but all they do in rejuvenation is talk about the 1 positive half way through the year about taking on over 500 new staff, never the negatives that they've already lost this year only 6 months in close to 600. They can't keep anyone & it's obvious why when you work there. (They know they can pay you peanuts & treat you however they like because the employers have it all their own way & there is a huge lack of jobs around here which they know.) Their answer is if you dont like it, there is plenty of other departments on site to work for which is clearly the wrong answer, poor & they can't deal with problems (mostly because they're not interested.) Poor pension payments from employer. No advancement in your job on offer. Extremely appalling staff accommodation with no cooking appliances allowed on site & no kitchen sinks. Management that have nothing better to do than to take pictures of your work & plaster it all around buildings for everyone to see & talk about & won't come up to you 1st to see why you had to leave it like that. They are a disgrace. Control & management (if you can call them that) do anything they can to make you do other departments jobs especially when you're leaving. More jobs given to you to do for the same pay. Multiskilled workers required for rock bottom wages & even in departments where your title isn't a Multiskilled Operative you're expected to do multiskilled jobs for rock bottom wages. Cleaners are paid more than maintenance team members for doing an easier less skilled job. Some lazy staff here that won't do anything to help you even when it's their job to. Incorrect pay often. Many times they've paid me incorrectly there & I had to keep fighting for the correct money & I was paid approaching £200 in cash once (when I had bills to pay from my account). They do anything to not pay you correctly & try to trick/fool you it seems too with your pay. They have purposely also put payroll in the hr office too so that if there is any complaints with pay, they know nobody will make a scene in front of an office load of about 20 members of staff. You also have to fill in your own forms instead of the payroll team members to get money you should of been paid in the 1st place. Management want extreme bodgers there with the lack of parts available sometimes, with rushing you to do jobs & not the correct tools required to do jobs. -They try to save money on small littles things but won't spend money on badly leaking roofs that have been like that & reported many times for months, they won't spend it on the close to collapsing staff accommodation but happily spend in on entertainment. People's accommodation even guests is far more important to look into currently. No overtime available unless they want you do it but having said that you wouldn't want to do it for them because overtime rate is the same as normal pay, you get no thanks for doing it & your money will most probably be incorrect after doing it/you won't be paid. Also you will be rushed off your feet like most days. Most days you don't get a second to yourself (all day.) B*tchy office staff most of them in control that like being sarcastic, lazy & causing drama especially Karen. A lot of maintenance staff that are happy to bodge & think that bodging is normal & the way to fix things. (There is no job satisfaction here because of this & it just leads to others having to fix someone else's work which if it was done properly in the 1st place, you wouldn't have to do.) Saddos working here well beyond retirement because they don't have a life.

Pros

1 - Team members, we at least care about each other and a few good "LEADERS" 2 - holiday hour - NEED IT TO RECHARGE 3 - Ok 1st job (short term) 4- Team member Talk to each other 5 - one day I'll be gone 6 - ...... Well that's a problem, cant think of a 6th

Cons

1- Butlins it's having ZERO! mental health Awareness, the support and understanding of mental Health disabilities is absent, I and many other have discover Butlins DOES NOT PROVIDE PROPER TRAINING TO IT'S LEADERS or team. and this result a major mistake happening. with only 2 or 3 people actually having any understanding at all those with mental health issue MUST stay clear, I have seen them enclose someone having a meltdown in a small area or surrounding them with security (clear not properly trained), I personally have felt the effect of sensory overload as a result of music playing FAR to loud even for a Bar, they Constantly use of Trigger words and Phases, quote “Calm down” “you got to stop doing having this” “YOU’RE A PROBLEM” 1A - (Critical Issue) They have intentionally made the work environment far more Hostile to those with disabilities all the blind need for more Profits and CEO/Manager Bonuses this has caused great harm to a friend. This is then followed up by Bosses telling us team members not to worry about the other Team members. 2- TEAM MEMBER PLUS PLUS IS An INSULT, you BASICALLY SAYING that the people that already do Accom and bars you don't deserve a liveable wage Unless you’ll focus on nothing, but you work life, as you be finishing a 1am to be back in by 9am if you lucky And the BIG weekend Are tiring for the Teams in venues that only do 6 hour shift, let alone the multiple time I’ve work 10+hours with no break on these weekends 3 – Poor following of the Data Protection act, (from a follow team member who found out they screw up their records and gave them the home address of another team member 4 - the blatant dis-regard for team wellbeing and team safety 5 - The blatant dis-regard for Guest wellbeing and Guest safety 6 - badly trained managers/ ”leaders” – Boss Mentality 7 – Common excuse for their actions is "well it’s a stressful environment" news flash (got from an expert) the company has an obligation to NOT intentionally aggerate the typical stress level of the workplace ie knowing/intentionally running event under-staffed, not providing Proper Required breaks (20minS UN-INTERUPPTED!!!!!!) 8 - "Overworked" 9 - "business overall outlook" 10 - "out of touch leadership / CEOs" 11 - "lack of appropriate equipment" 12 - the inability to realise some people have had training outside of the company AND HONESTLY IT CLEARLY BETTER THAN THE COMPANY TRAINING 13 - the blatant use of training and guidance design to force the most out the staff ( eg noroviruses outbreak that was in the new, Butlin’s was lying through it teeth and thought no-one would notices FUNNY Butlin's did that with covid to ) 14 - "Chaotic workplace" 15 - "LAST minute" 16 - "only cares about its shareholders”. 17 - "stressful money driven centrally operated" - accurate 18 - "treats staff like slaves" - when I read this, I thought well that why min wage is so low, Butlins controls the wage so by paying the min it forces team to work longer hours giving Butlins just what it needs at minimum cost and Max Profit. 19 - Promote having Rude aggressive guest and dangerous drinking and behaviour (even push incentives like selling the most shots for a £10 gift card) 20 - A blatant lack of respect for our owners, They pretended to listento them and then half A***ing giving them what they ask for. 21 - alienating loyal owners who have families (big weekends) and thus the team member for a formed loyalties with them aswell 22 - lack of security vs number of guests in area 23 - "awful working conditions" – too much to describe. 24 - "Unprofessional" 25 - Blatant disregard for building conditions - LECKS EVERYWHERE even flooding AND HAVE BEEN FOR OVER 5 YEARS – Please fix the TENT 26 - total ignorance of electrical safety leading to team getting shocked 27 - Electrical safety practice be disregarded ( IF THE ELECTRICS IS WET YOU TURN OFF THE POWER , not, for example, clean up the flooding a replace the light fitting and call it down the cable are still wet dam it and in the same area, any bad down poor has rain water running down right next to the fuse box aka Fire Risk 28 - team member are ALWAYS telling leader when something is up and it just get blown off, 29 - pay minimum but expect above and beyond and doesn’t like it when someone works against that or to quote what was said to another Adhd friend by 2 of his leaders “you course a problem by acting up and the other are seeing you doing it and are doing the same now” – this was apparently in regards to the team just finishing sitting down for a ”team talk” and right at the end when they all think its done only then telling the team to go on to enough venue to “help out” – even those according to one the few good leads who didn’t expect out team to help, that our leaders knew about the problem for HOURS! 30 - "destroy any hope or faith the team member had”. 31 - "expect to handle the workload of 3 or 4 people”. - bet you thought it would be down by now NOPE 32 - "NOT LISTEN TO" - i 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th this 33 - doesn't know how to thank the team 34 - "only standard pay yet expects to work, in risky environments, long unsocial-able hours, and bank holidays" 35 - Promises broken 36 - "HIGHER MANAGEMENT DONT CARE" 37 - billies bulletin's loved so our head in the venues for a photo op to pretend they are part of the team, funny how they are never around when you need help. 38 - "breaks get forgotten", (“I have personally work 12 hrs in a tent with no break”) 39 - "TOXIC workplace" - if in the "click" you get away with anything 40 - un able to follow basic schedules 41 - DOESN'T PAY FOR HOURS WORK - love to round up or down start finish times 42 - NOTES EARLY FINSHES DUE TO SICKNESS AS UNPAID SICK - FROM THE GOV SITE - "SSP is paid when the employee is sick for at least 4 days in a row (including non-working days). """"""You cannot count a day as a sick day if an employee has worked for a minute or more before they go home sick"""""""." 43 - Cause harm to its whole Team 44 - claims won’t pay team members that fail to clock in or out while not fixing what needs fixing 45 - BURNING OUT ITS TEAM MEMBERS - see team member plus, hell don’t even the Basic role are a strain. 46 - risking the wellbeing of vulnerable individuals - NEED I GO ON BECAUSE I CAN - 47 - B-serve (We like b-serve honestly cos we can interact with the families) BUT not when you can keep the tables in to correct places or when you can move between them because you had the fit that extra row in ( ITS DANGEROUSE DAM IT ) 48 - LYING to everyone - team, the news, the media, to inspectors 49 - poor food hygiene standards 50 - not enough storage, 51 - cramp enclosed workspaces. 52 - risk to speck one’s mind - only reason we are because we have given up and just want It all to end (not alone there) 53 - triggers depression. 54 - has Made others "want/feel need to unalive”. 55 - "corporate 1% mentality" – only the Shareholder, CEOs, and rich friends’ matter 56 - doesn't understand mental triggers. 57 - Butlins HAS Severely harmed many of us mentally and psychically – this has even been a shock to our doctors. 58 – WE’VE TOLD THEM ALL OF THIS BEFORE, but “negative” team surveys get ignored. 59 - poor leadership priorities - mess over two area to prop up 1 now you have 3 in need of help. 60 - not willing to take the steps that will make people actually think that a worthwhile job I’ll work there. 61 - some are here because their desperate and Butlin's uses that. 62 – EXTREMLY poor work life balance. 63 - Butlin's expect its team to put work first (life revolves around work) 64 - doesn't reward its team despite ALL their hard work and the amazing profit that come as a result. -reward example pizza party, once a year team party (work by team members) 65 - bring out the worst in people 66 – to quote the Bar Manager, “if you not happy working here no one is making you stay” how dear you! That quote is a clear disregard for those who can’t just walk out of one job and find another and we all need to work

Pros

I need to express that there are definitely areas for improvement in this job. While the coworkers are acceptable, I believe there should be more positive aspects to discuss.

Cons

Starting with the cons, the staffing situation is unacceptable. The team is consistently short-staffed, functioning with a minimal crew. If even one person calls in sick, it creates chaos. The living accommodations are subpar; staying in a garden shed would be more comfortable. The facilities lack basic hygiene, with moldy rooms and an unbearable smell. Management is problematic at all levels. There is a culture of bullying and harassment, and the promises made about prioritizing family and providing accessible childcare are false. If you need to take time off for your child, expect to be reprimanded. The supposed nursery does not exist for team members currently employed. The buildings are in disrepair and require significant renovations. Furthermore, there’s an infuriating clause in the contract stating that you can be assigned to any location at their whim, regardless of what you signed. When you approach HR, or as they call it, the "people team," to address feelings of being belittled by management, coworkers, or guests, you quickly realize they are indifferent to your concerns. This is a toxic environment that needs urgent attention.
