Lovely students and staff

Pros

Lovely international students who want to learn and are mostly enthusiastic. Great staff who will help each other and are incredibly friendly. Mostly small classes which is a great environment and an added bonus is the early start to the summer. The school breaks up in late June. At the moment it is still better than most state schools, but unfortunately this is changing rapidly for the worse.

Cons

Very long working hours. School starts at 8.30 and finishes at 5.00. Very little non contact time and management do not always honour PPA time, which they refuse to put on the timetable. Very little time to do marking or work except at the weekend. Staff expected to do duties, cover and invigilation. Reports are unwieldy and an admin nightmare. Unfortunately what was a lovely school where staff were trusted and respected is rapidly becoming like many other schools where staff feel stretched and overburdened.

Pros

It has good facilities and students are great.

Cons

Lack of experience from managers. Managers have few teaching hours and are not visible to students. The ratio of managers to teachers is high. Very low pay and above average working and contact hours.
