Pros
I grew up as a dancer and thought this would be the right fit for me. I had previous years of experience working administration at another dance studio. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything positive to say.
Cons
I was the assistant to the owner from 2019-2020, but I was treated like a personal punching bag. I was tasked with jobs without being provided any guidance or training - which might have been fine if the owner did not have very specific ways she wanted things completed. I was emotionally abused by the owner for the entirety of the short time I worked there and was made to feel like I deserved it. Looking back, this was uncalled for, and I was never given any constructive feedback to grow from. There were no set hours, and I was expected to be “on-call” - making a work/life balance impossible. The compensation and benefits did not match this, and I received a low salary without any additional benefits. The environment between coworkers and beyond had a toxicity that extended far beyond me. I would not recommend working for this employer, nor would I recommend being a customer.
