Pros

Office location, easy commute and nice office

This company has no regard for its employees or their work-life balance. You find three kinds of managers there 1. Always smiling, listens to everything and do NOTHING 2. Nice face to face , avoid any meetings and do NOTHING 3. Avoid even eye contact and do NOTHING The culture is very toxic, engineers who have been there for a while , they are not helpful and they are v stubborn when it comes to new technologies. No flexibility in development and one group by engineers have the last say. You feel an outsider and just banging your head trying to understand 30 years olf legacy system with an absolute nonsense codebase. And on top of that, they are putting loads of new modules on that same codebase with a massive amount of techdebt which will take generations to fix The Ceo of the company is such a shallow person, he said is his all staff meeting himself that he does not trust his employees working from home and he does not like seeing kids on his employees laps during calls. He has put 5 days a week in office which is next level of insanity just because he wants to come to office everyday. He lost his respect that day in my eyes when he said that and i decided to leave such organisation where there was no regard for employees Also, they put people in engineering squads with incompetent product owners who know nothing about engineering or product and then managers do not listen to any employees concerns. I left the company in less than 6 months because it was stressful enough for me in just that short amount of time and i have made the best decision to leave that company then.

I joined CMC Markets with high hopes, but unfortunately my experience has been less then desirable. 1. **Abrupt Working Conditions Shift:** The sudden decision to call everyone back to the office with a mere 4.5 days' notice demonstrates a lack of consideration for employees' work-life balance. The rigid "no working from home" policy contradicts the current trends and is disappointing. 2. **Chaotic Leadership:** The inconsistency in procedures due to frequent changes in team leaders and managers is baffling. It creates confusion and leaves employees struggling to keep up with shifting expectations. 3. **Below-Par Compensation:** It's disheartening to see that CMC Markets offers compensation that falls well below industry standards. This approach does not value the skills and efforts of its employees, making it difficult to stay motivated. 4. **Toxic Team Environment:** The regular cancellation of 1:1 catch-ups is indicative of a disregard for employee well-being. This contributes to a toxic team culture where open communication and professional growth take a backseat. 5. **Mismanagement of Talent:** Despite boasting record-breaking profits during the COVID-19 pandemic, the way CMC Markets treated its talented employees is perplexing. Many were either let go or chose to resign, suggesting a lack of appreciation for dedicated staff members. In conclusion, my time at CMC Markets has been marked by frustration and disappointment. The company's failure to address these glaring issues casts a shadow on any positive aspects it may have. It's disheartening to witness such potential squandered due to poor decision-making and neglect of employee satisfaction.

THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER WORKED!

Where do I begin? I started at CMC almost 3 years ago when it was still OK and a decent place to work. It has completely gone downhill since then, especially in the last 6 months. I moved teams a few times during my time at CMC, without a pay rise, and was then made redundant on the spot in August. I was given extra work and harder work with each new role but no monetary incentive - CMC is incredibly stingy and cheap. My team leader was taking 2-3 hour lunch breaks on a daily basis and would go missing multiple times a day to go shopping, get facials, beauty treatments etc, but enforced 30 minute lunch breaks on myself and other team mates. My team leader would also force us to stay back if we took 45 minutes (we are entitled to ONE HOUR legally but he would not accept that). We were also forced back into the office 5 days a week, with only 4 days notice during the school holidays - very cruel especially for someone like me with kids. I felt trapped, dreaded going to work and wanted a way out. CMC also hired a load of new people and made them redundant after a few weeks so they did not even get a redundancy package. When I was made redundant on the spot, I took that as a sign - a blessing in disguise. I have now found a much better role, at a much better company which pays me 30%+ more and allows me to WFH 3-4 days a week, with 1 hour lunch breaks lol. Management are now resorting to making fake 5 star reviews on here, trying to save face, whilst the share price is PLUMMETING. GOOD RIDDANCE TO CMC!
