Pros

Shifts are full of different tasks--we are rotated between washing dishes, bussing tables, hosting, working till, and making waffles, crepes, sundaes, and cookie doughs. If you prefer not getting stuck on the same job for an entire shift, this job is great, and preparing the food is particularly fun. The team members are great.

Cons

Some of the management frequently yell at staff, even in front of customers. They have sent whatsapp messages at 2 am about what staff are doing wrong multiple times, and they use CCTV footage to surveil employees' job performance. They get angry at staff for calling in sick, believing that everyone is "faking it" to get out of work, and they have called mandatory last-minute staff meetings with less than 48 hours notice. Verbal harassment is so bad that staff sometimes end up crying on shift or feel uncomfortable working while management are present. There are some people in management who are lovely and supportive, but they are vastly outweighed by the others. The schedule comes out weekly, and is only posted late the night before the week starts. Although most employees are not getting the full-time hours they were hired for, the job frequently interferes with our lives outside work by releasing/changing our schedules at the last minute and by frequent angry messages about work performance.

Pros

When I started work at creams I hadn't worked for a company before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The management had changed during my time there and not for the better. The previous manager clearly cared about the wealth fare of each employee. She was concerned with are energy levels and regularly offered to feed us in between busy times. She had a professional mix of both understanding and real work place expectation's.

Cons

The interview its self was conducted aggressively with abrasive under tones. But being an up beat positive person, I tried to write this off and walk in with a positive attitude. The short time I was working there I experienced racial profiling, comments from co works of an unpleasant sexual nature as well as a lac of concern for employee care. Such disrespect was just simply not worth the minimum wage, as well as no over time pay on a zero hour contract. We were not given any space to lock up are own belongings and often had to work in cramped conditions. The change of management was unsympathetic to are concerns about revision time as well as my many comments about hygiene and recycling regulations that were being ignored.
