Pros

- Excellent Senior Leadership that are vastly experienced and easily accessible - An excellent trainer (even for experienced recruiters like myself) - Still hiring in a global pandemic - I joined just two months ago - An excellent marketing team that generate top tier candidates/clients and traffic to both the website and to you personally. Very friendly and will help with advert creation! - A great bunch of guys & gals to work (and go out) with. - International work opportunities - I moved from London to Leeds under the premise that I'll be in one (of three!) Australian offices in a year or so. - Tonnes of on-going training seminars to brush up on retainers, advert creation, candidate sourcing etc. - When we're not in a pandemic there is a beautiful kitchen area and we have a chef, a barber, and table tennis!

Cons

- Commission scheme isn't the greatest I've seen.. - CRM system is fantastic (Bullhorn), but needs a bit of a clean to improve efficiencies for consultants (although this has been raised and is getting sorted) - It's recruitment - be prepared to work for your money, but I think that goes without saying and wouldn't necessarily class this as a con!

CSG Talent Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review, we really appreciate it. It’s great to hear that as a recent addition to the CSG family you have had a positive experience so far. We take all your comments on board – these are important to us as we continually make improvements. The commission structure is designed to reward performance but has the significant benefit of no threshold. Our consultant packages are based on good basic salaries, zero threshold commission, lots of flexibility and a range of additional perks and benefits.

Pros

Decent earning potential. Room for Progression. Good perks if you can get on them. But even then, you can often be left feeling uncomfortable on the trips etc.. maybe monetary incentives would be better than the drinks, trips etc

Cons

Flexibility is offered but is always threatened to be taken away so don’t make plans to use said flexibility. Very little support and if you ask for it you feel stupid and thick because that is how you are treated by the training team. Toxic masculinity all over the place. Left to your own devices and often left to fail :(. They love their select few and if you’re not in the clique you might as well be invisible. The interview is nothing short of being groomed and showing you all of the amazing perks which are unachievable. Told all of the amazing things that they do for others which all sounds good but further down the line leaves you feeling worthless. They boast their mental health support and even IVF support yet when my wife lost our IVF baby I got very little support or care and was expected to be back at my desk billing the same day. Shame really because this business could be amazing.

Pros

CSG are very supportive both in your work and personal life. They are very flexible with remote working when needed. Although this is a sales job, it doesn't have the competitive sales atmosphere that a lot of people loathe. There are great incentives and you are rewarded for your work. The academy program is highly effective in training someone with no experience, within weeks I had a good understanding of what I was doing and was able to hit the ground running.

Cons

The work hours can be a bit long (8:30-5:30).

Great Academy training

Pros

In 2021 CSG started a new recruitment Academy, bringing in an experienced Recruiter to provide training to University graduates and inexperienced recruiters. This year the Academy has already produced some bright talents who continue to receive support and guidance from our Head of Academy. They have already started to build their own markets and bill efficiently in new areas such as Mining Software and Glazing, all down to the training given in the Academy.

Cons

There is none that I can think of.

Pros

CSG provide consultants with all of the tools that they require to succeed (CRM, LMS, LI Recruiter, ATS etc) as well as regular training and support. They are 100% transparent with business affairs, and more than any organization I have seen, truly support consultants who are putting in the work, and not seeing results.

Cons

None to share, good balance

Pros

Solid initial training program. Good facilities and resources.

Cons

Poor management style and culture. Micro-management and strict KPI’s which in reality shouldn’t even be monitored (I know this as I now have much fewer KPI’s, yet I have improved my billings by 1000%+). Outdated advice for business development (in my opinion/experience). Most people at CSG were trained to do this ‘old style’ of recruitment, which involves a lot of hard selling, pestering, chasing (e.g. I was once told by senior management to call up a new client at 10pm at night to try get the invoice paid before the next day, as it was end of period - embarrassing if anything). Times have changed and so has recruitment - this no longer works for the majority of people, and they can see straight through it. It’s about adding genuine value, and what you find is that when you stop pestering people, they enjoy working with you more, and are more likely to turn into long term clients. Also not the best commission structure.
