      - Employee share program - Established company with a lot of history

      Cons

      - Experience in the industry is ignored. - People are only noticed if you have a PhD or a Masters, experience in the industry does not matter - Favouritism is rampant - Toxic culture - Pigeonholed, no progression or investment in training - Out of touch when it comes to the industry

      Business over people

      Pros

The colleagues are amazing, you will meet with and work with great people.

      Cons

HR practices and policies are all about the business, not the people. Systems are very old fashioned and frustrating. The culture is going down hill fast, more hierarchy and one way.

Great people, poor middle management, excellent company.

      Pros

Excellent colleges to work with. Excellent company perks compared to other companies I've worked for. Well developed processes, structured and mature company. The industry agreement in place makes the company benefits and payment structure very transparent to employees. Enables me to see where i am in terms of salary and where i can go when it comes to annual performance review. And the performance review process is one of the best I've seen.

      Cons

Management are the bottle necks. Some are great; sadly depends who you report to. They take too long to make decisions and do things for the sake of doing things rather than for the good of the company or for the sake of improving processes. Too many middle and senior bosses who think and stay short term in their role. No long term commitments. Sad to see a successful company badly run when it can go and do so much better and faster. I'm not working as fast as I am capable or making a difference as fast as I would like.

      Downward Spiral at Broadmeadows

Feb 21, 2015 - Anonymous Employee in Broadmeadows, Victoria, Victoria

      Pros

This list up until late 2012 would have been relatively exhaustive given its great values and purpose and great leadership with Brian McNamee at the reigns. There are still quite a few people trying to salvage a sense of community since his departure. Global Employee Share Plan Family friendly practices but only if you have a great manager which is becoming rare. Great R&D

      Cons

Business is purposely creating a large turnover to change culture in order to become more commercially viable in comparison to other sectors of the business. The culture is currently becoming extremely toxic. Many managers have no empathy, including the human resources at the site. There is no leadership. Culture change is being managed with fear and negativity. The next few years will be very interesting. Lacks integrity No trust Intellectual Property walking out the door Unhappy workers watching their backs Hard working and exhausted employees in some areas because HR is not listening and blaming poor performers rather than the poor change management and malaligned resources and turnover.

      Pros

      * Company produces life saving products * Colleagues are friendly and easy to approach. * Once made permanent job security is quite high

      Cons

      * Management in my area are disorganized causing confusion in process * Workload is very high resulting in extreme extended hours of work - up to 18 hour days which includes extra time at home * Budget cut backs, despite massive profits, means that department is very understaffed. * Work requires skills and to work in conflicting environments. This means working on projects that require deep concentration yet also at the same time having to work constantly with customer interaction *Unrealistic opportunities are given. That is they are given but no room is made for someone to pursue them. That is already overworked so when given an opportunity have no time to really pursue it. Unless after hours when consultation with others is impossible. - this after hours is after the after hours you already do.
