Pros

Clean and new office. You get a ham each year and maybe a yearly bonus to compensate for lower pay.

Cons

IT Dept. Run like toy shop. Lots of politics, not fun, not innovative. Directors treat employees and consultants like dirt, favoritism. Do not work here. Toxic environment. Low pay compared to industry.

Pros

CVR is making a lot of money, and the exec leadership is looking to make a lot of money. The salaries for most positions are good, but many people complain about salary and bonuses. Mr. Lipinski is a hard hitting, great leader, who strives to make the company profitable. He is sometimes, blind or self-ignorant to issues that exist in his leadership team and senior management.

Cons

There are some areas where senior management is lacking in experience leading a $8Billion company. Many have been promoted with little to no management experience which causes issues when growth occurs or areas of responsibility become more complex. There are some execs who are extremely bad leaders and tend to be kept in place to keep from causing rifts or showing issues. Employees are encouraged to leave rather than trying to correct issues with leadership.

Pros

Not many pros to working here. The pay is decent if you can stand working all day with inept management in all levels and all departments of the organization. The actual refinery personnel seem competent but higher level personnel in their office locations are truly lacking in professionalism and knowledge.

Cons

The mid and upper management in their Sugar Land office and Kansas City office fight and argue non-stop over work assignments and who will do what. This really affects morale but the management doesn't care. The particular manager I worked for was extremely rude and incompetent with zero business acumen. The HR, Finance and IT departments are all pretty clueless when it comes to operating in an effective and efficient manner. You are expected to work VERY long days with no appreciation whatsoever.
