Pros

- Relaxed atmosphere. - Decent benefits. - Remote work. - Fun company doing cool things within the camping space. - $500 annual camping credit if you book a stay at a participating campground. - Occasional meetups downtown (in major hubs)

Cons

- Pay might seem high but they don't offer bonuses and compensation increases are less than the rate of inflation. - Management is young and some managers really have no clue what they are doing and some are too sensitive for feedback or coaching. - Operationally still have a lot of things...a lot, to learn and figure out. - If you need good structure and supportive leadership, you could be very disappointed.

Pros

Camping Industry is booming and the company is growing fast. Lost of investment is scalability of the platform and movement away from out of date technologies. Campspot hires some of the best people around and has a very friendly culture with everyone willing to help out. Nothing is off limits and you can quickly have a big impact on the success of the company. It feel like leadership really cares about the happiness and growth of all employees.

Cons

Campspot has the typical growing pains of a new startup. Even with the high investment is scalability the sheer volume of new campgrounds on the system is increasing faster than the system can keep up with. Lots of critical issues arise causing problems accomplishing sprint goals. Hiring around DevOps and QA has been slow and those teams are understaffed. This is very fixable and leadership has made this a priority. Sometimes leadership will be spread thin and not have the resources to help you with a decision and that decision will fall onto you to make.

Cons

Burnout, constant, unrelenting pressure in the last year Challenging morale No Bonus/low salary/didn't feel valued Business doing well, then mysterious layoff Leadership seemed to value and celebrate other departments more than tech/seems like tech was not appreciated as much as it should be
