      Fast-paced startup with lovely people

      Pros

      In an early-stage startup, we get to build the infrastructure of a business: 1. Innovative ideas are heard 2. I continue to be inspired and, more importantly, challenged by the people I work with every day 3. Work on building a company thats focused on being a front-runner in the "future of work" Careerlist's vision if executed well could really make a difference for how we get jobs in the future, focusing on making smarter career moves in a less-fragmented manner.

      Cons

      Not a con for me specifically - but Careerlist is a startup, so the company has gone through a series of changes that can make it difficult to remain focused if you cannot shift-gears quickly.

      Cons

      This company is still new and finding its place (public launch April 2018), and there are a fair number of growing pains associated with that status. If you need explicit direction and oversight, it's not the place for you. Things change quickly, often, and sometimes significantly. That can be exciting, or it can leave you in a situation where you're no longer working in a field or role that you anticipated at the start. The lack of structure often presents amazing opportunities to take on new challenges, but can also be seen as a detriment. Keeping an open perspective and the ability to adapt to the changes are necessary in order to be successful in this environment. As product market fit is being discovered (and improved), the company has been guilty of hiring for roles too quickly - which means that things are 1) not always fully developed and 2) the vision and staff aren't prepared to provide adequate support. Communication is not always as timely or as strong as it should be, especially with such a small team.

      Pros

      I feel very grateful to have had an opportunity to be part of Careerlist and for having such great supervisors and mentors. I worked with incredibly talented people who are open to knowledge sharing and learning.There was a time I was overwhelmed and discouraged and our CEO’s support and advice helped shape my professional career. He showed me how to transform my mistakes into skills. I was able to interact with cross-cultural & cross-functional teams. The company culture is diverse, positive and collaborative.
