Lovely people, some nice projects, may not suit everyone
Pros
- Good work-life balance, generally overtime can be avoided - Nice people to work with (everyone is quite introverted!) - Chance to grow in technical design understanding - Good use of BIM and sustainable design - Sponsorship and support for Part 3 qualification - Office trips, social activities, lunches, free breakfast once a fornight - Pension contribution, cycle-to-work scheme - Employee-owned, yet to see how it plays out
Cons
- No bonus or paid overtime - Top-heavy, so limited progression - Micro-management from directors, can depend on project - High turnover of junior staff in recent years - Mainly design-and-build projects with lots of value engineering - Design style quite rigid, can be old-fashioned - Office space a bit unappealing, temperature varies a lot
