Pros

- Great people who genuinely believe in the company's vision - Remote-first culture with lots of flexibility

Cons

Very inexperienced people in leadership roles who do not know how to run a product-led business: - "Sweatshop" approach to engineering teams, no vision or support from VP of Engineering to plan for longer-term scale. Burnt-out teams, horrible dev tools, very poorly engineered solution that blows out feature delivery time. - Constant shift in priorities, leaving teams unprepared for delivering quality results. - "High-performance" culture with teams being judged by the number of features they ship. Teams and individuals get blamed directly in a very toxic way if they don't deliver on time. - The problems get hidden under the rug and not communicated to the CEO.

Bad to Worse

Pros

They started investing in the customer-facing tech stack, albeit potentially too little too late. The COO wears his heart on his sleeve but has contributed significantly to the downward spiral of culture and company since April 2022. Cascade was a family; everyone was together in the trenches until early 2022. CEO had the potential to be a great leader, but his complete lack of empathy and honesty has proven his downfall.

Cons

If you provide feedback, you're punished and told why you're wrong. CEO & COO are not experienced in their roles, and both have the mentality of 'I can do everything best'. So the CEO lets the COO run around and disturb every department with emotional rants and ideas that are not thought through. Most of the best people and workers have left this company leaving a shell of a workforce behind with little to no roadmap forward.
