Pros

- Co-workers that want to help non-profits. - Decent pay. - 100% paid benefits for you and your family. - Remote-first culture.

Cons

- ELT, including the CEO, will publically blame specific teams for the company not doing well instead of building teams up and showing leadership - Roadmap deliverables and dates were not set by the Product or Engineering teams but held to those dates as KPIs - 25% of the company was laid off in March 2023 (~13 people) with a vast majority of those laid off being senior software engineers/individual-contributor team leads resulting in significant brain-trust loss. - Although the layoff was not a significant amount of people, the notification method was Slack and an email.

Thank you for your feedback and for your 3-4 years of service as a Software Engineer. We are glad you recognized the value of the software we develop and its impact on the great causes we serve. We acknowledge that 2024 was a year of significant transition for our organization. Since then, Casebook PBC has undergone a rigorous process of evolution. We have invested heavily in leadership coaching and organizational restructuring to address the very concerns regarding disorganization that you’ve mentioned. We are proud to share that these efforts have resulted in Casebook being certified as a Great Place to Work®, and our current eNPS of 24 reflects a much more collaborative and transparent culture than in years past. While we are sorry your experience didn't reflect these recent improvements, we remain dedicated to maintaining a high-performing and supportive environment for our entire team. We wish you much success in your career.

Pros

Built an incredible product for the best customers who lead and work at non-profits, municipalities, and human social services organizations across the country. Made a real difference in giving good tech to low resource orgs.

Cons

Leadership was out of touch with how to run a company; didn't get product market fit ultimately

Thank you for your feedback. While you may disagree with the way the company was run while you were there, hundreds of customers may disagree with your contention that the company didn't get a product market fit.
