Miserable Place to Work

Pros

Some of the people are nice. There's flex time. They have an anonymous suggestion box. Good idea, in theory But there is a camera on it 24 hours a day. And they reward people who give ideas that they decided to implement. Great system. Does you know what anonymous means? I do not think it means what you think it means.

Cons

You know that time in grade school where people get in petty little arguments, then it fizzles out until it happens again, just creating a vicious little immature circle? That is this workplace except instead of children, they are (supposedly) adults. HR does not care that people are being harassed. It's not hidden by any stretch but no one does anything about it. Even when it is reported, nothing changes. They only give attention to people who matter, in their mind. I saw another review on here that says that ex pats are the only people that seems to matter. I agree with this. The salaries for Americans are way below industry average. If you are an ex pat then you have it made and can do no wrong. They get company cars, houses, you name it. They have contractors who have worked there for years and years with minimal wage increases and zero benefits. There is some kind of meeting every year or so any contractors are not allowed to attend. The company claims this is so there is coverage in departments which is a joke because some departments have zero contractors and they leave no one behind for "coverage". It's their way of keeping people out and not hearing about how the company is doing which is kind of pointless because no one is paying attention anyway either due to the fact that they can't understand what is being said by the ex pats or they are just not listening because it's the same thing every year. And the people who have been there for years and are actual employees? They are just riding it out until retirement which makes it all but impossible to move up. From the few people I had a chance to speak with, they stay because the company is flexible with time so that helps if you have a family. However, if you would like to support that family better, I'd look elsewhere. Company is an old boys club, if you aren't in it then it doesn't matter how hard you work. You will get nowhere. If you need the job, take it but I'd constantly be on the look out for a better paying job. That's what I did.

Their New Motto: Out with the Old

Pros

Good benefits; nice amount of time off when you’ve been here a while; smart, loyal and hardworking professionals.

Cons

Where do I begin? A bunch of middle-aged non-Casio expats have come in within the last year and are making decisions to waste millions of dollars under the pretext of taking the company in a new direction but, really to purge the company of most of the loyal employees who BUILT this company. All so they can hire people with “new ideas” and the chairman can have a nice view of Manhattan. Disgraceful and I’m sure the Kashio brothers are turning in their graves seeing what these non-Casio people are doing to their company.
