Pros

Flexible with school. Paid every two weeks. Free rides to Catalina island. Incentives help sometimes. Summer time you get a lot of hours

Cons

Not very flexible with other jobs. Management is not very understanding. Goals are sometimes unrealistic. Always being harassed for doing something even when nothing has been done.

Pros

Training is the best training I’ve had thus far and everyone is extremely nice and super helpful! It’s not a competition here. Everyone wants you to succeed. The hours are really good as well. For call center agents, they do not give less than 26 hours a week which is great because i’ve had places that didn’t care if you had 8 hours a week. The pay is pretty good too. At $14.25/hr, it really pays the bills.

Cons

*For Call Center Agents Only* They give you a lot of hours which is great but it’s not flexible AT ALL. They blame it on the system they use (which could be true but who’s to know) but say you have a second job or you can’t be out late or you have a kid to take care of with no babysitter at a certain time, “because the system” they cannot cater to your needs which, to say the least, can be extremely annoying. Especially when you have another job. And switching shifts are hard too. You have to do it at a certain time and you must have it approved with the person your switching with (obviously) AND the scheduler. And if you’ve missed a day or left early on one of your shifts for any reason and you need to pick up a shift during that two week pay period you missed that shift, it’s automatically denied. Which can be good in some ways because it does encourage you to stay but some people have kids and other jobs and I’ve heard one of the employees has a brain tumor! Upper management, although they are all very nice, do not care. Lastly, something small but still important to most of us, you cannot use your phones. At any time during your working shifts. I was able to understand when i first started because we deal with credit/debit numbers and I’ve been told about fraud in the way past. But they’ve updated the system to prevent that apparently! Even then, everyone needs the CCV or.. CVV to be able to use someone’s card. Not saying that i would ever, it’s been done to me and it’s awful but there’s no way that could happen with our system because we don’t ask for those numbers. It’s gets boring and slow here. Especially during winter. We’re just staring at a screen.

Pros

Room for growth especially if you want to become a captain. Catalina hires captains from within. Catalina treats their employees fairly well compared to other companies. Good benefits.

Cons

I have nothing bad to say about this company.
