Pros

If you don't want to work hard or learn, then you can work here and sit back. If you want to stay in the same position for years, then stay here. If you like to stay under the radar and be ignored by leadership, then this is the place for you.

Cons

The leadership focuses on getting star ratings from customers without pleasing Chevo employees. Phil, the owner is not a people person and is afraid of his employees. Every year, he gives the same annual company presentation with the same jokes. Phil will not involve his employees in new contract development. He gives no opportunity to grow and does not listen to creative ideas. He just mills at his desk and has everything work like a small machine. I asked for more opportunity to grow and learn. Chevo did not take my request sincerely. When talking to others, I found no satisfied employees at Chevo.

Pros

Very few. This is a 50+ employee beltway company that is completely reliant on Govt. contracts.

Cons

The ruler at Chevo's DC Federal PMO contract has a very long track record of being highly unprofessional, extremely mean and nit-picky about minutiae, not a visionary, extremely unconventional for a Federal project and constantly picking arguments with all his reports. The team environment is extremely poor. As a result, there's very high turnover of the Internal controls audit position in the team. The leader engages in derogatory behavior.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. Chevo is a Management Consulting firm that is proud of our focus on providing services to the Federal Government. Each client engagement does have different management/leaders and varying office environments. That said, we strongly encourage all employees to speak with upper management or HR whenever they encounter issues with either colleagues, managers, or clients, before they feel the issue is unsolvable. We have an open-door policy and always prefer to address conflicts timely, as the satisfaction of our employees is paramount. In addition to our open door policy, we survey our employees annually through the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE), where employees can evaluate us on the benefits offered, workplace environment and their view of Chevo and satisfaction in working for our company. We are proud to say we have won this award the last 8 years and strive to make improvements at Chevo based on feedback from our valued employees.
