Pros
I worked with top tier RBTs and BCBAs. There was unlimited unpaid time off and the management was very supportive. The clients and client families were great to work with. The team felt like family and everyone was very kind and willing to help each other out.
Cons
PTO is at a reduced rate. The admin time for creating materials and client cancellations was several dollars less than the regular rate. PTO was paid out to this rate and it was not disclosed in the benefits package, the handbook, any emails sent out, or in the interview. The clinic closed for an entire pay period due to flooding and we were not compensated for any missed hours or sessions. There was no growth opportunities and we were consistently told there would be promotions coming but they never did. I was given a raise and I waited 2 months for it to be approved and for 2 pay periods after it was approved, my raise wasn’t applied without me sending an email raising an issue. At one point the administration mistakenly paid my PTO at the regular rate and when this was learned I was sent an email saying I owed almost $200 that will be taken out of my next paycheck. All the while, the CEO was promoting and opening 2 new locations in separate states. The CEO and, to my knowledge, none of the administrative staff have any ABA experience and took no time to take the 40 hour training or even shadow the staff to understand the needs of their employees. The CEO and admin are also based in New York when the company is in Ohio. The CEO is very rude and it took him almost 10 months for him to introduce himself to me. He runs a very unethical company. I was not fingerprinted for this job, just given a basic online background check. This company is very money grabby and took no advice from the BCBA supervisors on how to effectively run an ABA company. To any prospective employees: I hope that your time there goes better than mine. I really hope that the CEO will learn his lesson. However, if you have the chance, go with another company. There are so many in the NE Ohio region that will treat you better.
