The team was obviously sad to have their previous waitress go and upon hiring me had 0 patience. I explained that I had not worked at Michelin before and was hired anyway. After 2 weeks I was called up for a "review" and was berated, albeit respectfully for my lack of experience and in the words of my manager "an eye". He was fully aware of the risk he was taking by hiring me but was happy with my customer service skills as were the customers themselves who not only expressed that to me but to managerial staff too. After this chat I worked as hard as I could to get better and do better - perhaps burnt out a little, I was passionate and loved the place dearly but was arguably judged for my passion; "its not that deep". One or two members of FOH were particularly cold and kept accusing me of taking things too personally, when in fact they had far too much attitude. My final shift which led to me being fired over text was awful. I made two mistakes which I took full accountability for and were fully rectified with happy customers by the end of the evening. These mistakes happened on one large table and were regarding incorrect input of items into the system which I attempted to fix myself but due to the manager lockscreen, could not do this fast enough. I was told to "take my time" but then was simultaneously rushed. This resulted in said mistakes which I apologised to both table and kitchen for profusely. I had only been working for a month and vocalised my need for help in certain areas but this was shunned as I should have "just done it" and "[I'll] be fine". To clarify I am not an idiot or an inadequate waitress by any means but this team did not want to accommodate a new staff member like they claimed. There was no "learning curve", just a lot of passive aggression and gaslighting for lack of a better word. They claim to be chill but they're quite hoity toity. Upon firing me over text the manager then accused me of posting a hate review on Google on the same day.... why would I do that? Very bitter and petty for that accusation.
