Pros

I have worked at Chiswick auctions for several years . It was one of those crazy places that you go to learn, have fun and get paid . The owner is a bit off the wall. But has ambition , passion and commitment to the company . Yes his jokes are on the edge , But that's what they are jokes . Staff either it seems stay at the company for a long time or a very short time . You either fit in and get it or you don't. Chiswick for me was a stepping stone its like being in school before you are let out in to the big world . I LOVED all my colleagues. They are from many countries and ethnic backgrounds which I value. I feel my pay was fair for my skill set . If you are looking to join this company I would in a heart beat . Its a roller-coaster which due to the pace you will need to get off at some point .

Cons

Like any job there's pressure to perform, Certain staff have targets which need to be hit. To be fair if you don't nothing seems to happen which I always thought as odd . The management team let people get away with to much so hence sometimes structure lacks.

Pros

Hands on opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of an auction house. Rewarding to be given responsibility over cataloguing certain pictures/objects and the chance to be trained as a telephone bidder.

Cons

This is an unpaid internship.
